“Updated Inn Charm”
Reviewed 3 September 2014

This was our 5th stay in Ogunquit, first time at the Colonial Inn. It was reasonably priced for the Labor Day weekend. We expected an "Inn" feel but were pleasantly surprised that it was recently renovated. There was a Pool (not heated though) and a big hot tub. The AC in the room was perfect. The front desk staff was very helpful. We would definitely stay here again!

Room Tip: This Inn is located centrally where you can walk to downtown, The Beach, and Perkins Cove.

Dear BrianMalanson,

We are glad that you chose to stay with us and that you enjoyed your stay and the friendliness of our staff. We are happy that you were pleasantly surprised with our recent renovations. Our pool is heated up to about 78-79 degrees, so on warmer days it tends to feel cooler than the temperature outside. We hope that when you plan your 6'th visit to Ogunquit, you will consider staying with us again!

Sincerely,

Colonial Inn Staff

We loved this place! Upon entering the lobby we immediately felt welcome. The decorations were
warm and inviting. That feeling followed through the entire facility. Room was cozy and very clean.
Location was perfect and the staff wonderful and helpful.
Only draw back....no ocean view!!

Room Tip: I believe there are only 2 ocean view rooms. Our room was rather small although quite livable.

Expanded inn complex with pool and hot spa. Charming touches include afternoon baked novelties and continental breakfast. Within short walking distance if restaurants, Ogunquit Beach and the Marginal Way. Great space for families with children. Refridge in room and more than adequate space for family of 5.

We stayed for four nights at The Colonial Inn, and Thomas and Michelle were very pleasant and helpful to us during our stay. They were able to make suggestions about things to do and places to go, and provided us with everything we needed during our stay. A special thanks to Denise for keeping our room immaculate! Of particular enjoyment to us was the piano in the lobby, which my partner was able to play to the great enjoyment of other guests. Having been recently renovated, the hotel was very clean and tastefully furnished. The bed was large and comfortable and the bathroom was also modernized and efficient. The history behind the building makes this hotel of particular interest to those who might like to learn about what Ogunquit was like in the past. They have preserved the dignity of the hotel while bringing it nicely into the 21st century. We really enjoyed our stay at The Colonial Inn, and we highly recommend it to others!

Room Tip: Rooms on the East side would have ocean views. Try to choose a room with a desk and/or a sitting ch...

Stayed here with family in July 2014 and was very pleased with accommodations. They have renewed the entire place and have done a lovely job. They play special attention to even the outside. The flowers are spectacular. The location is walking distance to almost everything, but the trolley stops right out front, so you can hop on and gooooo! Good breakfast offered and still warm cookies most of the time. Pool available for non-beach day. Loved relaxing on porch. Would stay here again.

The Colonial offers beautiful rooms and a great porch where we can sit a read a bit after a long day at the beach. We stayed in the guest house, which was really nice. We also visiter a room in the main building, which looked very good. We'll probably try to rent such a room in the futur.

Afternoon cookies in the main building are a great plus. :-)

I think we had one of the best rooms in the hotel, rm 408. The view was spectacular and the room was modern and clean. Perfect location as well. Where the hotel falls short is with some of the amenities. The free breakfast was terrible! We've had better free breakfasts at much lesser quality hotels. All they offered was oatmeal, cereal, bagels, breads, some apples and hard boiled eggs. Would have been nice to have had some healthier options like yogurt and more variety of fruit. We were also disappointed that there was no vending machines to grab a quick drink. We asked the front desk and they sold us a diet coke for $2 but the front desk attendant seemed a bit annoyed that we asked. This was the only staff person that wasn't friendly. In the room there wasn't even a pad and a pen but they did manage to leave us a tip envelope for house keeping. The bed was very comfortable. Overall it was a pleasant stay.
