The location of the Colonial Inn is one of the main reasons that we stayed here for a second time recently. We parked the car when we arrived on Monday and never moved it or used it again until we left on Friday. The Inn is within walking distance to the beach, Perkins Cove, Marginal Way, Ogunquit Playhouse, town, and many shops and restaurants. We enjoy sitting on the rockers on the front porch or relaxing on the back porch or pool area. The sitting areas inside are also very lovely. The chocolate chip cookies fresh baked each afternoon and beverages available are a nice touch. The continental breakfast has slipped a notch since we last stayed a couple years ago, and one morning we went out for breakfast elsewhere because we did not care for what the Inn had available. The blueberry muffins and fresh pineapple served one day were very good. Yet, when busy, there is limited seating, especially if it is raining. The little breakfast room is so crowded people are literally sitting back to back, with little to no room to even get into a chair at the table. We prefer sitting outdoors or on the porch. The rooms are bright and airy. We had a corner room in the front of the inn which was very nice; however, if you are a light sleeper, request a room in the back. One may hear people walking by as late as midnight or before 6 AM, and vehicles are going by at all times day and night. Other than that noise we liked our room, #201 because it was right next to the stairs and we could easily reach it by going down the hall on the first floor and straight up. Also, by going down one flight we could go right out the front door to the porch or exit via the front steps to the street when going out.

Last min planning of course that's me. Looked for a B and B abut all were booked of course... but it so happened that one B and B was soooooo nice they booked me for the second night and lined up a room at the Colonial for my first night . Ok so ..... very clean almost looked brand new never used . Staff was very nice ! The king room was just perfect . Far. Icee than a Marriot and almost a quaint as a B and B. You won't go wrong with this place . A 5 min walk to the beautiful Marginal Way path . I promise you will love this place I will be back .

Amazing. Historic but modernized, even the attention to service including tour of building is a throwback to years past. Location is ideal--walking distance from everything. Just delightful! The soaps/lotions in room are like no other hotel, literally going to try to buy lotion after our stay.

Great location near Marginal way. Coffee and homemade chocolate cookies were too good, ad well as baked breakfast items.
We stayed in the East building, like being on the 2nd floor and enjoyed sitting on our balcony.
Sitting on the rocking chairs on the covered porch at the Main Building was very nice.
Great location - halfway point to stores and restaurants on one side and Perkins Cove on other side.
Highly recommend this place!

Great for family travel. Staff was super. Room was good size, very clean. Located right off Marginal Way- easy walk to Perkins Cove in one direction, shops in the other. Wrap around porch was large enough to accommodate many. Breakfast was well done.
