“Magic in Ogunquit”
Reviewed 18 October 2011

While it's not as upscale as Kennebunkport, Ogunquit has a better beach (probably the best in Maine) and the spectacular Marginal Way walk. The Gazebo Inn is a great place to stay while seeing these attractions and others in the area. The Inn itself has been built in and around an old barn. It features modern, unique rooms that are very clean and well appointed. The bigger rooms in the "barn" area are particularly nice. The outside garden, pool, and hot tub are also beautiful and well taken care of. Breakfasts are made from local ingredients. If you have a chance to meet the owner, he will tell you about the Inn's transformation from a dilapidated barn and give you great suggestions for restaurants and activities. The only negative is that the Inn is not directly on the beach or Marginal Way, but this is a minor quibble compared to the ambience and reasonable prices.

Room Tip: If you are willing to spend more, go for a "barn" room although all rooms are nice.

My wife and I are not "B&B regulars", but we did have rather high expectations. The numerous reviews about this property seemed too good to be true. There was NO disappointment at all. The staff and facilities were absolutely perfect for a 3 day get-away. The champagne and strawberries made our welcome very special on our first adults-only "getaway" in a few years. The spa treatments erased the tensions of the "real-world" and the local attractions helped us to rekindle our wonderful life together. Don't forget to request your bag of scones for the trip home - they were super yummy! Thanks for a great visit.

Room Tip: The Barn Suites were very spacious and quiet. The features of the room were very complete.

We booked the honeymoon package (5 nights in Barn Suite 5, 3 meals included at local restaurants with ride in mercedes limo, 2 dozen red roses in room, and lots of other little perks). It was a great deal! SO nice to see the owners and manager have such a passion for what they do....and it shows. On top of that the area was beautiful (beaches, lighthouses, sailing, hiking, shopping, Ben and Jerry's ice cream) all within 1-20 minutes from the Inn. The staff was welcoming and instantly made us feel comfortable and spoiled rotten. The scones were AMAZING to add to the rest. Can't say enough great things about this place. It was our first time to Maine and don't think the experience would have been as great anywhere else!

Room Tip: All are great but the best of the best is in Barn Suite 5...2 person hot tub, steam shower, 2 way fi...

We are/have been retired for over ten years and have spent most of that time doing a bit of traveling here and there. For the past three years, we have spent a week in early October at a B & B that has literally become a piece of paradise for us! And, a very important part of this paradise experience is our stay at the Gazebo Inn! Both the ambience and local of the Inn, the fabulous services available including a most delicious full breakfast buffet each morning. and most important the most amazing staff that oversees this amazing facility! This B & B is a treasure to behold and experience!!

Room Tip: We love the Barn suite!

My wife and booked the Gazebo Inn based on reviews on TripAdvisor and their website. We reserved Barn Suite 2 and the pictures did not do it justice. Our stay could not have been more perfect, in both our opinions this is a true 5 star B&B.

Positives:
We were scheduled to arrive on the same day as hurricane Irene. Scott, the owner, called the day before to insure we were still able to make it. Upon hearing we would be in the area early he told us to check in right away, no need to wait until "check-in time". We arrived around noon and where given a great tour. Peter was very attentive and you could tell he had a lot of pride in the hotel. We told us about a great deal with a local restaurant and offered to make reservations once we had decided (we took the package he suggested at Angelina's and it was worth it!!)

The room was beautiful - the pictures do not come close to showing the real room. The sheets were super soft in a HUGE bed! The bathroom was amazing; I believe my wife is measuring ours to replicate it in my own house. Huge steam shower and double hot tub, we really had no reason to leave the room. Except to visit the pool and outside hot tub we probably never would have.

Breakfast was great. Scott was present both mornings to greet us and show us around. Delicious and fresh. We wanted to order scones to go they were so good!

We cannot wait to come back – especially in the winter months to take full advantage of those fireplaces!!

Room Tip: Book the Barn Suites early - You will never want to leave!

My wife and I stayed here two days in May on a driving holiday through New England, we stayed in the King 2 room which was as wonderful as shown in the Gazebo Inn webite photos. Incredibly helpful owners and such a beautiful place, both the Inn and Ogunquit itself, a real Maine experience.

Room Tip: King 2 is truly beautiful, is front facing and very quiet.

My partner and I booked a anniversary special at the Gazebo Inn and were not disappointed. As we waited until the last minute to book the Inn for New Years we did not get one of the barn suites (which is booked months in advance), but the extreme of the largest room, the smallest room they had. The room had enough space for a queen size bed and two small lamp tables. As we did spend much time in the room it was not an issue, the room was spotless and well appointed. The breakfast that is served every morning is to die for and the boys really make an effort to please everyone. The service of providing a stretch Mercedes everywhere we ate was a part of the special but the extra touch they gave to everything and the attention to detail really made the difference from having a great stay to a memorable stay.

Room Tip: Book well ahead for holidays as the Inn fills up very quickly.
