“Great trip, sparkling good weather !”
Reviewed 12 March 2009

We started the cruise mid-day, and the weather was 100% perfect. Passing lots of mansions along the shore we headed out to sea. The Captain was great, and the narration gave us all the info we needed.. we passed some lobster fishermen and enjoyed watching them pull their catch aboard their vessel. On to Nubble Light, a beautiful sight, and its easy to understand why its the most photographer and painted of all the lighthouses. There was a snack bar on board, and pieces of bun were tossed to the rowdy seagulls following us. I really enjoyed this cruise, and couldn't have asked for a finer day.

“Lobstering boat trip”
Reviewed 26 May 2008

A very enjoyable hour long cruise with a guided view of some of the local shoreline as well as a real demonstration of how lobstermen work. The price was reasonable ($13) and the captain and crew very pleasant. He brought up 3 lobster traps and had one keeper, 2 smaller lobsters, a crab, a sea urchin, and a sculpin. Even our 4 year old enjoyed it. Caution: our trip was on a perfect day, and our experience might not apply in rougher seas.

“Going to Nubble Light in the fog”
Reviewed 11 August 2007

We took the 10:00 am Nubble Lighthouse Cruise form Perkins Cove in late July. We were concerned since it was very foggy inland early. When we arrived at 9:45 they told us that it had cleared up enough to go out.
The boat has 3 rows of open seating at the bow and several rows of covered seating aft. They did have a cash bar onboard , but we didn't get anything.
It started out ok with the hostess telling us about what we were seeing onshore. Then, about 10 minutes in we went into a fog bank and could see nothing. The captain took the mike and told us how he navigated in the fog, and why he was blowing his horn, ect...
When the captain was explaining about the bell bouy at the entrance to York Harbor, we came out of the fog and actually saw it.
From there it was on to the Nubble Lighthouse. We were able to get close to the island and circle it. It was foggy on the far side of the island.
On the way back the hostess gave us hot dog buns to throw at the seagulls, wich attacked the boat.
We enjoyed our trip, but it would have been better without the fog. I will say thet the captain did his best when we ran into the fog bank to keep us enterained. It would have been boring to just sit there in the fog.
When going to Perkins Cove take the trolley if possible. The roads are narrow, the traffic is bad and the price of parking is high.
