I have collected fine crafts and art for more than 30 years, and this is one of the nicest galleries I have been to. It is spacious with high ceilings. It's a very calm and relaxing environment. It is a highly specialized gallery with a focus on very high quality craft and jewelry. Unlike most craft galleries, it is not crowded with hundreds or thousands of small pieces, Panache has fewer, mainly larger pieces that are very well displayed. Many of the glass and copper/metal works are "statement" pieces costing $1000 or more, but there are also very attractive pieces for under $100. The jewelry is very tasteful and interesting, not the usual, but very distinctive.
The owners are exceptionally friendly and helpful. They are not pushy at all, but will tell you about the pieces, the artists and craftspeople that make them, and wrap your purchases very carefully. Almost all their business is repeat customers and referrals, so that tells you almost everything you need to know.
There is plenty of parking behind the gallery, a real plus for Ogunquit which can be a traffic and parking nightmare during summer (parking downtown is $10 and at the beach it is $25 during high season). If you're in Ogunquit and like world class glass art, metalwork and jewelry, Panache is a must see.
