Beautiful views close to everything BUT if you want to sleep in the AM forget it , you can hear the water running in the showers and the sink next to you ,and or above or below you, they did not sound proof the walls while redoing the hotel.I changed my room after 1st morning I was woken up at 630am very loud, next morning different room, same problem if you want that stay on Route 1 for under $75.00 not $195.00. front desk said they never got a complaint S U R E I believe them

Location, Location, Location!! This hotel is located perfectly to everything. The beach, downtown and the walking path. I was little nervous as this hotel had received not so great reviews. Well they must be reading all the reviews as our stay was wonderful. Very clean and staff very helpful. Perfect for families as there is a large outdoor heated pool, two hottubs, and a small indoor pool. If you are looking for a quiet, romantic weekend in the summer, I would look at all the other quiet inns or B&B's in Ogunquit. If you have kids, request room 204. It is a larger room and on the bottom level with a yard in front, so the kids can run around. Easy access to the path and pool. Will definitly stay there again!!!

I think the Anchorage has some of the best views in Ogunquit. The rooms here are a little dated, and could use amenities such as a coffeemaker and iron, but the property itself makes up for any shortcomings. There is an indoor as well as a good sized outdoor pool, 3 hot tubs, and a kiddie pool. Lots of lounge and adirondack chairs are put out on the lawn overlooking the marginal way and ocean. The grounds are kept immaculate, and are full of beautiful flowers and a waterfall. This is my 1st choice of where to stay when I come to Ogunquit.

We stayed in the Towers section of the Anchorage. The rooms are average in size but have rather small bathrooms. It was quite convenient to have a frig in the room. It permitted us to have cold drinks and keep lunch meats, bread etc.

The beds are rather comfortable however if you require a rollaway bed then I do not recommend it. The mattresses are well used and could potentially be uncomfortable. We had brought an eggshell foam to add to the bed and it was not sufficient. We even added our beach towels to give the bed more lift.

The site is clean and the pool area is very well maintained.
We have had more friendly personnel in other resorts but we did not have to deal with them often. It is a shame when the pool fellow is more interested in reading his book than giving you pool towels .

Regardless, we enjoyed our stay at the Anchorage

Are you kidding me? We vacationed in Ogunquit and stayed at Anchorage By The Sea. A beautiful view, no doubt. A rip off, no doubt. From the moment we arrived, it was clear that this was neither a cordial or friendly atmosphere. Our rooms were in need of updating. Worn out mattresses and a tiny bathroom with paper thin towels were unpleasant, but the treatment by staff and rudeness of the General Manager ruined our stay. We were there to relax and enjoy our stay but the management's goal appeared to see their main goal as creation and enforsement of restrictions. Charges for services unrendered were added to our bill and remain in dispute. It is a puzzle to me how they stay in business with such poor people skills and customer service. I definitely would not recommend this "resort".
