I have wanted to stay at the Grand Victorian for several years, and this was the year I finally made a reservation. We were in Maine to visit relatives, but I wanted to be on the beach to enjoy the sound of the waves and take brisk walks. The Grand Victorian met those needs. The only disappointment was that although I was assured the pool would be open during our stay, it wasn't.

Room Tip: If you are a light sleeper, request a unit facing the beach, you won't hear the nightly train bl...

This is the 3rd stay at the Grand Victorian for our Nursing Class reunion. We have stayed in many places..resorts mostly..and this have been our # 1 favorite. Each unit..we always rent three...is spacious and well-appointed, providing comfort and privacy for all of us. We have the beach right in front of us and several choices of places to eat, but eating in condos works also, as kitchens are well equipped. Thanks to owners, Tim, Melissa, Pauline and Ryan Soucier for the very clean accommodations and well-organized staff who provided us cheerful assistance when needed.

This is our 3rd reunion at grand Vic and my first review of this beautiful condo hotel on the ocean at Old Orchard Beach,Maine
We rented 3 units on the 2nd floor (yes there is an elevator)there were 14 of us staying this past this weekend.
As usual the facilities are totally up-to-date and the decor is out of a magazine.
Each unit has granite counters, custom cabinets,a dishwasher, washer and dryer.
The beds range from king-size-queens, twins, etc and are out-fitted in comforters and soft sheets-plenty of pillows.
the living areas have comfy couches and chairs and a gathering table where we all came together for meals and chatting.
The balconies have chairs for enjoying the water views and are also fun for people -watching!
On the management side I must say that Ryan and his crew were so accommodating and if we had a request to make our stay more comfortable(extra towels, replace ceiling light bulbs, check any other issues) they responded quickly. And there is free on-site as well as off-site parking available for those who need a car-but why leave the beach?
We are planning our return next fall for our 50th reunion from nursing school-why go elsewhere?
We walked the boardwalk, to gift shops, church on the Sunday, bought 'pier fries' and 'fried dough ' snacks, enjoyed very good restaurants, there is golf nearby and the train carries passengers from Boston practically to the door!-oh-there is also a large, warm, indoor pool and spa services on-site.
(There were lots of others-families and couples- renting while we were there and there was no problem with noise in the halls, tho we knew we weren't the only residents on our floor.)
All in all, a truly nice place to stay and get the flavor of a beach vacation.

Room Tip: we loved 204 for the view-front-on to the waves and open ocean-and the beautiful, clean beach

We have been going to the Grand Victorian for two consecutive years.

This year, our party of 7 people (3 adults and 4 children from 4 to 10 yrs old) had reserved an oceanview condo from Apex but Chris upgraded us to a corner oceanfront condo a few days before we arrived (#306), which was perfect as it gave us access to a table (which many other condos do not have) and two balconies to follow the sun (it can get cool in Ol Orchard Beach- OOB - with the sea wind).

We loved the convenience of the location, which is right where the action is. We only used the car to get groceries to fill the huge fridge (the Hannaford in Saco was my favorite). The rest of the time, we left our beach stuff in the trunk of the car and got it before we head to the sea, which was perfect with young kids (4, 6 and 8). My husband would go down to the beach before us to set everything and we would follow shortly after. We would go back to the condo for lunch (as a nice break from the sun) and head back to the beach later in the afternoon. The condo was even close enough to go the bathroom there (the one near the inside pool is conveniently located, there is even a hose to wash away the sand from your feet before entering the building).

It gets noisy at night on Thursdays and Saturdays in downtown OOB and we were able to watch the fireworks (Thursdays) from our balcony while enjoying the good musicians playing at the bar downstairs. We had brought ear plugs but did not need them with the windows closed (the noise level was OK). Just don't expect quiet time before 22:00.

We were right across from the amusement park, which made it difficult not to bring the kids every day. For your information, the park does not offer weekly passes, only annual passes at $104 each (even for smaller kids).

Be aware that the Internet connection is extremely weak and I rarely was able to connect to the Grand Victorian server during my stay.

I would recommend this place to everyone looking for comfort and convenience.

Our original house rental fell through and we ended up staying at the Grand Victorian #301. It was a very large 3 bedroom condo with beautiful views of the ocean from the living room and all 3 bedrooms. Everything is so close to walk to in the downtown area. The only disappointments were the hard mattresses and the poor internet access. Otherwise, it was a great week!

What a perfect week I spent with my 6 yr. old grand-daughter at the Grand Victorian #511. We took the 2 hr. train from Boston and arrived 3 blocks from the condo. My grand-daughter made friends at the pool and we invited them to front row seats for thursday night fireworks on our balcony. It rained one day, so we walked to a discount bookstore, bought a game at the toy store and some sweets at the candy shop. I can not imagine a more convenient location, on the beach and close to restaurants and stores. The condo was nicely decorated, clean and had everything we needed. I shall return.

The veiw was amazing and I loved it well worth the money had a great view of the fireworks can't wait to go back. You have everything in walking distance. Its very safe and clean. If you have children there lots for them to do and if you don't there tons of things to do for the adults. The condo has 24 hour secuity and its very safe.
