The hotel wasn't a very clean place. It looked better in the pictures then it did for real. The location was a 5min. walk to the beach. It had a playground right outside the room and a pool.

What a perfect time for a vacation! The owner and manager of this motel were extremely helpful and pleasant. We just loved the view and the little walkway directly to an uncrowded, beautiful beach. The room was immaculate, and the attention to detail really impressed us. Although we traveled as a couple in the autumn, we found the weather to be perfect, in fact , warm enough for several swims. The motel has a wonderful playground, pool, & hot tub. Grills galore, and the manager offered to cook up some fesh clams and lobster for us!

I kept thinking what a perfect place this motel would be for my young grandson, for a summer family trip, but what a perfect place for a couple in the Autumn! Watching a harvest moon sink over the ocean from our window made this a magical memory.

I would absolutely recommend this terrific place for families with young children in the summer, and a must for couples/singles looking for a respite in the Autumn. Excellent experience all around!

My wife and I needed a few days away and ended up at the Crest Motel in OOB. This was September 25, 26 & 27 of 2007 and we had the best beach weather (record highs) and our room (ask for 215 Ocean View) was just the best! We pop out the door, down the steps and 30 seconds later we're on the beach! The owner, Paul and manager, John, were just excellent as hosts. John goes the extra mile to make you feel welcome and Paul takes a lot of pride in the upkeep of the motel and overall guest satisfaction. Since it was just my wife and I, this was absolutely the best but, if you have children, it gets even better! They have all these toys, swingsets, little cars, etc for the kids. They really cater to family during the busy season and it really is the best for couples or singles just looking for a quiet, relaxing and romantic time during the off season. I suggest September, October, May or June. Old Orchard Beach and the Crest Motel really are tops. Great stay! Great time! Thanks!

The Crest Motel was right on Old Orchard Beach, a 1 minute walk from the motel to the ocean. They also have an indoor/outdoor pool, which is kept clean - just a bit heavy on the chlorine. There are 2 jacuzzi tubs also, very clean. There is also a swing set with some toys outside, this was a great feature for our 2 and 4 year old kids. It was a good break from the water. The location is great - very close walk to the Pier. We ate at the Barefoot Boy restaurant several times during our stay, which was very good.

The room was pretty simple, we had a "poolside queen" which had one queen bed and a trundle couch, which pulled out to 2 queen beds. This was a nice feature. My biggest issue was with the blinds on the windows. Our room was VERY close to the pool, which has lots of lights around it. The window and door both bring in a lot of light ... it felt like Times Square at 2am. This problem could be easily solved with curtains instead of blinds.

Overall, a bit pricey for what you get, but location is great !!

Just returned from a weekend getaway at the Crest Motel in Old Orchard Beach. For the last few years we've stayed in Kennebunkport, and I wish we'd just stuck with that tradition. I found the Crest in the Maine Official Travel Planner, and visited the website. Allowing that this is March, in Maine, I understood that there would be no flowering shrubs and that the indoor pool would be closed. All we wanted was a clean, quiet, comfortable room with a two person whirlpool.

We stayed in the "Ocean View with Hot Tub" room. The room was clean when we arrived, but not suprising since it is the off season. There were no frills, a half used roll of toilet paper, no cups with the ice bucket, towels were stacked on the back of the toilet. The hot tub did not hold water. The first evening we attempted to use it and couldn't get it to work, my husband went down to the desk. After finding a note to call a phone number in the motel, we tried to call it for at least 45 mins and it was busy. We finally gave up.

The bed was horrible. Two single flat pillows, and the bed moved like the ocean, waking the other person if you shifted a fraction of an inch. The chairs in the sitting area were wooden, and also uncomfortable to sit in for any period of time. The sofa had the texture of burlap, and I can't imagine sitting on it in shorts in the summer.

Saturday we saw one of the motel staff and mentioned the problem with the tub. He said he would check it, and also leave us some more towels. We returned later that afternoon and the tub still would not work, our same used towels were on the floor in the bathroom (where they request you leave them) and our trash had not been emptied. No one at the desk again.

Again, we weren't looking for much. Clean? Yes, when we arrived, but after that housekeeping was non-existent. Comfortable? Not in the slightest. Whirlpool? Not usable. That leaves quiet. I can't believe none of the other reviews have mentioned the train. From 6am to 10pm, train whonking their horns repeatedly pass by the motel, loud enough to startle you from sleep.

We spoke to the same staff member on check out on Sunday. Told him we were very disappointed in the room. It was billed as a hot tub room, and the tub would not hold water. It's not complicated, a simple up/down drain switch like any standard bathtub. He went upstairs, fiddled with the thing for nearly 25 mins and came back and said that he had gotten it to work. I guess we should have called him every time we wanted to use it. We weren't offered any type of discount on the room, or even an apology. We definitely won't be returning.

I found this motel on the web. The web site pictures looked really nice, so we went ahead and booked the room. We stayed during off peak season, so the price was reasonable. The motel itself is older, and not the prettiest one by any means. (Pictures and comment on their web page from previous guest are a bit deceiving!?!) The room was OK - nice size and clean, but the workmanship and decor left a lot to be desired.........The pool area was nice, and the outside hot tub was small but OK. The outdoor playground area and BBQ grill area was junky......The office offered free coffee in the morning and free popcorn throughout the day. It was a short walk thru the parking area to get to the beach- which was a pleasant spot. I would recommend going to Old Orchard off season-as during the high season it is a little "rough" and somewhat dirty. I don't think I would stay at this motel again. I think I'd look around for a more modern place to stay. I also am more fond of York (long sands) and Wells and Ogunquit........Sorry Old Orchard!!
