“Terrific RV park”
Reviewed 18 June 2014

We have a 30 foot travel trailer and this was our first visit to Powder Horn. We are an older couple and didn't use the hot tub or pools but they were beautifully maintained. Bathrooms and showers were immaculate. The grounds are well maintained and the seasonal campers take good care of their property. The resort is huge and we enjoyed walking our dogs. Our only negative were the extra fees for each dog and for motorcycles. The staff make security rounds around the grounds at night but there were no disruptive campers or concerns.Old Orchard Beach is a mile away and they do have a trolley that comes to take campers for $1 each way. Dogs are not to be left unattended. We would definitely return to this RV park.

Room Tip: They asked what kind of site we preferred and we had said a sight with trees would be nice and we wa...

We stayed here in a tent and loved this campground. It is by far the nicest we've been to. The site was large and private. We enjoyed the pools and hot tubs and mini golf, there was lots to do here. Wish we couldve stayed longer! Will definitely return here if we venture down to Maine again!!

We discovered Powder Horn July of 2013. Once there we were amazed at how clean everything is and how well maintained the grounds are. The sites are large. The Seasonal treat you great. there are plenty of adult and children activities to keep the whole family busy. The staff are helpful and friendly. we immediately booked Labor day weekend of 2013 and for 2014 -Memorial Day weekend, Fourth of July week & Labor Day weekend. we have also added 3 more odd weekends for 2014. I don't care if we ever camp anywhere other than Powder Horn again.

This was our first time camping at Old Orchard Beach. We were very happy with the overall experience. The restrooms are clean, showers are free. The pools and hottubs were great. The camp store is very well stocked, including delicious coffee and pizza! The only thing we didn't like is that our site was a lot smaller than any other place we had been (#72) with neighbors on either side and in the back. So there was no privacy for our group. Also, the camping unit on site #71 was a camper that was NOT using a gray water container, just spilling it onto the ground. It came close to flooding us. The camp staff makes frequent trips around, but never noticed that. We didn't want to complain and have that family angry with us (since they were so close!!!!). All in all a good trip. If we go back I would get a site in the "90's" as these looked bigger and more private. The trolley came frequently, and was fun for the kids (and us) to ride to the beach.

I stay at Powder Horn Campground every year for a week in the summer. Every year, I swear everything gets better. There is a lot of friendly people to meet, the staff is so friendly and there always something to do. Every morning I go to the store and get myself a coffee, every year it is the same woman that works in there. She always nice and I look forward to talking to her in the morning every year. The three pools surprisingly do not get crowded. A lot of people, including myself, may have thought this is crowded resort, but it really isn't. I play in the shuffleboard and cribbage tournaments every year and those are always a lot of fun. You can win prizes if you place in those too. And one thing I like as well is the bathrooms are so clean and nice. The park is walking distance from the beach and just a mile from the Eastern Trail junction. I recommend Powder Horn to everyone I know. I tell them it's a nice place and they will never be bored.

Room Tip: Sites in the back of the campground are shaded and more quiet. You should make reservations early to...
