This may have been our 4th or 5th visit. This time everything was perfect.
Sunny, early afternoon with the sparkling ocean just yards from our window table.
Our food was perfect on this visit. Started with a nice salad. She had scallops and I had salmon. Both were prepared wonderfully, cooked just right. Scallops lightly browned and not overcooked. Salmon browned a bit more though still tender inside. Fabulous mango sauce with the salmon.Veggies on both plates were steamed and still crispy.

Free parking. Reasonable prices. Clean restaurant, lots of windows looking out on the sea. Attentive service. Clean restrooms. We had a wonderful dinner.

For dining in a tourist town where high prices for modest quality are often the norm, this is hard to beat. Nice menu, fairly priced.

Our previous visits were also nice, though the food preparation was more variable for both of us. My only complaint about this and so many other establishments is high prices for grocery store wines. Why charge 28 bucks for a bottle you can get for $10 at the supermarket?

Anyway, don't miss Joseph's by the Sea. Fine dining. Beautiful view. Free parking.

We couldn't have asked for a better place to eat during a great weekend. We had a delicious breakfast at the restaurant and will be back later in the season for dinner. Fabulous!

After several years of hearing good reports of Joseph's we finally tried it and were we impressed! It was Mother's Day, temp in the high 70's and blue sky. The best day in Maine this year! Our party of 7 was seated in front of open sliders looking out on the ocean. The menu was all brunch and breakfast items. Almost all of them under $10! Everybody was happy with their choices. The only negative was it took quite a while for our food to arrive. Our table was situated where we didn't mind the wait! We will definitely go back but probably not for dinner as the entres run $20's to $30's

Joseph's by the sea is a great place to go with friends to enjoy a relaxing meal, with excellent service and great drinks. They offer Gluten free items and Vegetarian items so all members of our group could find something to fit the bill. The only thing missing was they offered no Gluten free rolls or crackers. The rolls and bread for the others was very tasty and they have olive butter which was good and quite different and also offered regular butter for the not so adventurous.
The meals for were very good for 8 of the nine people. The one bad meal was the seafood over angle hair pasta, it was served almost cold and tasteless and the person felt the baby shrimp may have been out of a can they were so tasteless. Now the other 8 were very pleased with their dishes and the crusted calamari appetizers and the salads were excellent. This is a definite come back soon restaurant. It is a little pricy but we all felt it was fair for quality received.

Nothing in OOB comes close to Joseph's. In fact, while we count ourselves as discriminating diners, we often forego the drive to Portland and its numerous fine restaurants for a relaxing dinner or brunch right here in town without feeling that we are depriving ourselves. Prices are moderate, quite reasonable for the quality of the food.
