Staying a the Beach House is like staying with family. The managers, Anne Marie and Mark are helpful, friendly and so welcoming. When you enter you feel the 'beach romance'. The ocean view is right there in the lobby and your rooms and you immediately know you have made the right choice. Rooms are bright, udated, clean and cheery. Best of all you are just a few short steps to the beach, It is an easy walk to town either by way of the beach or the side walk along the street. We will go back again and again,. Barb B.

We chose the Beach House Motel because tripadvisor had excellent reviews. This was definitely one of the nicest places we saw while on one of our many walks on the beach. Ann Marie and Mark were very friendly and welcoming and we were immediately glad we chose this place upon arrival. Our unit (#9) was very clean and uncluttered. We were on the second floor, which was perfect since my kids are 5 and 9. I wouldn't have wanted to stay on the ground level simply because we got so much use and enjoyment from our covered balcony--coffee and breakfast in the morning, lunch in the afternoon, and drinks in the evening after the kids fell asleep! It was also a great place to hang wet beach towels and bathing suits over the backs of the chairs to dry overnight. The futon for our boys was very comfortable, much more so than pull out sofas they have slept on in other places we have stayed. Linens for the futon are provided in the hutch, though I would recommend brining a second blanket if you keep the room cooler at night. The room comes with amenities for 4 (silverware, cups, wine glasses, plates, bowls etc. along with pots & pans and basic cooking utensils.) The room has plenty of storage--big closet, armoire, dresser etc. so you won't be tripping over your luggage the whole time! It's so nice to have a kitchen and save money by doing breakfast/lunch in the room. We set up our chairs/umbrella when we went for our early morning walk and it was nice to be in such close proximity of our room. Another little treasure was a little snack bar in front of the place next door--they have a grill, ice cream, great iced coffees etc. for reasonable prices. The Beach House has a lot of nice little touches too--a place to wash the sand off your feet before heading into your room, well maintained grounds with beautiful flowers. The hotel is a short walk to the pier and touristy stuff. We drove into Scarborough and up to Portland for dinner. There is a great Whole Foods in Portland to purchase groceries for your stay. Don't follow the maps direction from their website, it led us to a location about 8/10 of a mile south of the actual hotel. Enter Roussin St. on your GPS! Also, the wifi was spotty at best, but not a deal breaker when you're there to relax and disconnect! We would absolutely stay here again.

I just returned with my husband and 6-year old daughter. We stayed in unit #3 on the ground floor. It was a very nice unit perfect for two adults and one or two children. I liked it better than unit 2 because it has the big picture window giving a great view of the ocean! If you are traveling with young children you might want to opt for unit #2 or #3 because with my daughter there was a lot of going in and out of the unit to use the bathroom, get a toy, etc. I was able to watch her go to the unit from the beach without accompanying her every time. To get to the other units you would need to go around to the other side of the house on the street side. With unit 2 or 3 you can stay on the beach and watch your child go into the unit safely. When my daughter wanted to watch tv instead of coming on the beach I could see her in the unit from the beach and felt comfortable with that. There are a lot of dumpy motels on the beach so beware! If you are looking for a clean, beautiful, place with wonderful service stay here! Not to mention it is a short walk to town! Also the managers Mark and Annmarie are super nice!

Truly a perfect spot! The main part of town is an easy walk down the beach, yet it feels like a private beach getaway. Excellent rooms, spectacular ocean views, friendly staff, great location; I can go on and on! No complaints whatsoever; I would recommend to anyone who wants to truly relax on their vacation. I have to say- my favorite part was enjoying coffee while watching the sunrise over the ocean; what a fantastic start to the day!

We stayed with you June 20th & 21st 2012. I just wanted to say we were so happy to have found this little gem within walking distance to downtown/pier but far enough away to get away from it. Our rooms were very clean and cozy with lots of charm. The management staff Anne Marie and Mark are a very lovely and friendly couple who make you feel right at home. They made our stay. I would definitely recommend this place to friends and family.

Thanks again Anne Marie and Mark for making our stay so comfortable and welcoming.

Your the BEST!! Have a great summer.

Room Tip: Oceanview suites have wonderful sun in the morning. During the summer there is fireworks every Thur...

Just steps from the beach, great ocean view, very clean, absolutely fantastic staff - especially Ann Marie. The unit had a bedroom, bathroom, kitchen(with all the normal cooking and eating equipment) and ocean front balcony.

The Beach House is breathe taking, surreal, and jaw dropping. Once you've entered through the lobby door you stop for a moment, catch our breathe as you savor the amazing view of the ocean. All your worries and troubles will be minimal; your eyes are wide open, you become speechless, and will have a huge smile on your face. There's nothing better than sand and water between your toes as you take your morning walk sipping your cup of coffee.
Anne Marie and Mark are amazing. They make sure you have everything you need and are a great resource for dining and fun activities.
This place is perfect for couples, families, children, and special reunions. Once you arrive to The Beach House you will know what I'm talking about.
Thank you to 'The Beach House' for your hospitality!!!
Namaste
