We stayed there 2 nights with our two childrens. On the thumbs up side, lets say our suite in a detached villa was nice, comfortable, clean, with all that a family could need (kitchen, bathroom, two beds). The location is very good, at only two minutes of walk from the beach and the local stores. On the thumbs down side, the concept of a B&B in our mind included a breakfast. I mean, a real one. Aren't we in America where people are renowned to eat a dozen pancakes each morning? Then, a muffin and a cup of coffee isn't what I call a real breakfast and it is'nt good enough for kids. So we had to purchase bread, cereals and milk for our second morning. (We were glad there was a fridge in our little kitchen.) And the suite isn't soundproof at all. Apprently, that cottage was split in three suites by very thin walls, cause we heard everything from the other guests in the night, and they probably heard us and the kids too. So, it could have been worst, but it could have been better too.

My wife and I had a very pleasant weekend recently with Roy and Heidi, their inn is spotlessly clean and their hospitality is just right, always there if you need them but not in a "smothering" way, a delicious breakfast of fresh cut fruit and muffins with plenty of hot coffee. An added bonus, this inn also attracts friendly guests, everyone we met there couldn't have been nicer.

We stayed for three nights. I would give the hotel an average rating. The room got a little stuffy, and there were not individual controls, other than the ceiling fan. The bath linens were not plush & pampering, like I normally expect at a bed & breakfast. The bed linens were also quaint, but bordering on worn-out. The muffins & fruit each morning were delicious, but the only thing that varied was the flavor of muffin. If you are staying more than 2 or 3 days, you might start wanting a different breakfast.
The owners were very friendly, and went out of their way to help us plan what to do with our time in Maine. They offered great suggestions & good instructions on how to get to various attractions. The property is beautiful, and is within walking distance to the beach. Overall enjoyable, but expected just a little more for the price.

We understand that you felt the room was a little stuffy, we are sorry to hear that, well your stay was in mid June and the nights of your stay the evening temperature got down to the mid forties and guests mentioned that the rooms were a little chilly we put the heat up for about an hour to take the chill out of the rooms, there were three windows in your room that you could have opened to relieve the stuffiness. As for the towels we buy premium 100% cotton 27 x 54 towels at 17 Lbs. per dozen and the bed linens are a minimum 400 thread count, we periodically check the linens and towels for wear and take them out of use and donate the linens to animal rescue groups and use the worn towels as pool towels. As for the continental breakfast our breakfast items are on our website and rate card that is mailed with the confirmation letter to all guests the breakfast is a continental breakfast it is what it is coffee’s tea’s juices various breads, cold cereal, assorted jams, fresh seasonal fruit salad and variety of fresh muffins. We are sorry you were disappointed with your stay at our Inn.

Unquestionably the most asthetically pleasing, warm and inviting Bed and Breakfast we have ever visited in Old Orchard Beach. A true peaceful haven for a city dwellers of L.A. California. We look forward to staying again at the Atlantic Birches Inn on our next trip to the East Coast..

We were put up in the cottage adjacent to the main building. This was beautifully decorated and clean. The owners were extremely welcoming even though they had no idea what time we were going to arrive as we had no mobile service. The relaxed 'help yourself breakfast of home made muffins, coffee and OJ was perfect.

Recently spent 3 nights at the Atlantic Birches Inn. we were looking fora romantic getaway and short honeymoon stay. What a surprise we selected the Old Orchard House room based on the website pictures. The Inn was very well kept, the breakfast in the morning was excellent especialy the muffins. Heidi's and Ray's dining and site seeing recommendations were superb. We wished we had more time at the Inn. We can wait to come back with family and friend in the future.
