We found this place to be a lovely rainy day stop, we spent a couple hours wondering through the collection and it felt more like a display for multiple collectors than a true "museum" but that in no way diminished the experience. It was quiet and clean with lots of information posted on the vehicles on display and they're place in history. It caters to a wide audience but with small children I wouldn't try to spend more than an hour at a time.

My wife and I were given a heads up to be sure and visit this museum while we were in Camden. It is only about 8 miles from Camden but well worth the drive, We were both amazed by the collection of actual vintage (some were replicas) bikes, autos, and planes. The museum is quite large and we spent half a day there though I am sure you could spend an entire day and still not be bored. The variety and condition of the items on display was unbelievable for such a small town in Down East Maine. Well worth the $10 Senior Discount admission, I think regular is $12. We visited in Winter but I noticed that in the late May to Early October time frame there are many special events that include several auto and aeroplane shows. The price seems to be a flat $16 for event weekend daily admission. Maybe when we come in the summer we will try and plan our trip around one of these weekends.

This place is such a hidden gem. It holds many old automobiles and airplanes, not something one might expect to find in maine but there is a lot of history to this museum, it has cars dating back almost 100 years. We somehow managed to get a mini tour out of it by asking one of the employees so many questions, they were all very enthusiastic and delighted to answer our questions. great for all ages and certainly worth the ticket price.

The Owls Head Transportation Museum is a must see if you are visiting the Midcoast area. The museum has something for everyone, young or old. There are fascinating exhibits of transportation through the years and a new exhibit of the MG car and it`s history. Be sure to check the activity calendar because during the summer there are special shows every other week. The aerobatic shows are a big favorite locally as well as the motorcycle events.
