“Awesome beach.”
Reviewed 11 June 2014

I've been to Popham a few times now and each time it doesn't disappoint. It fills up pretty quick on the weekends, so if you're planning on going Friday or Saturday, get there early.

“lovely state park- very popular in the summer”
Reviewed 15 April 2014

Popham is very busy in the summer. Often, visors are not able to get into the parking lot unless they come early, especially on weekends or are willing to wait for a space to open up. Some spaces along the road are available but the same problem is evident. Huge beach. Long shallow flat areas for getting into the water. Relatively safe for most bathers. Bathhouse with showers available. Food available in the summer only, but check beforehand to be sure it is available if important to your visit. Water is cold usually between 62 - 68 degrees farenheit. Not appealing for surfing. Estimated 3 - 5 miles in length. Very scenic. Some grills available for cooking with some picnic tables. Has been subject to heavy erosion periodically. Cost is per individual in the car- estimated at $4 each. Maine residents with ID over 65 are free.

“Beautiful beach”
Reviewed 12 February 2014

This is one of my favorite beaches. Feels like you can walk forever on the beach. So relaxing and beautiful. Great place to find sand dollars.
