“Welcoming and Satisfying”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 2 February 2014

On a winter's night after a few hours in a hockey rink, you can imagine how happy we were to be seated near the fireplace! The dining room at Cyndi's is a cozy place to escape the chill, and I'm sure it's equally enjoyable to dine lakeside on a summer's evening. Saturday night's special was all-you-can-eat-fish fry (Haddock) and, being in the mood for seafood, we went with that. Our appetizers were chicken fingers for the teenager in our party, and clam cakes for the adults. The former received the thumbs up from our young diner. Clam cakes were good, but I would have liked a few more chunks of clam. When our entrees were delivered, we realized that everything we could eat was right in front of us! Portions were plentiful and tasty - large pieces of fresh haddock in a light, tasty and non-greasy batter. Cole slaw was also fresh and yummy. Fries which accompanied the entree were good, but pre-seasoned which isn't my favorite. The burger ordered by my daughter was also seasoned (Montreal steak seasoning) which she wasn't crazy about. All in all, Cyndi's was a pleasant dining experience and we would definitely return. Service was friendly, and it was evident that this is a place frequented by tourists and locals alike. There was a private function in the upstairs lounge on this particular night, but it looked like a great spot to enjoy a beverage in any season.

“disappointing”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 10 November 2013

It was a cold evening when we arrived in the evening. We picked out own seats and ordered our dinners quickly. Then the evening slowed down. Our dinners arrive late and not hot. They were good but could have better. No pumpkin pie and terrible coffee. Our experience was ok but not great.

“Find someplace else to eat”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 26 October 2013

We were directed to this restaurant by the front desk staff at the Poland Spring Inn. It was on a Friday nite and the inn restaurant stops serving dinner at 7:00 pm.

We should have known to walk out when draft beer was warm .Opted for a bottled beer and that was warm too.

Dinner was disgusting, fish was overcooked, veggies were cold. Waitresses had an attitude because they were so busy trying to please the diners they had to work twice as hard. Long wait to get first drink and even longer wait for dinner to be served.

We only learned later that the woman that owns Cyndi's is also the owner of Poland Spring Inn.

This is a beautiful location right on Middle Range Pond. Too bad food's disgusting.
