Stayed at the Lodge. The room was typical of an older motel. Moderately priced, The room was small, but clean and quiet. (Request a room in the rear - the front is right on the parking lot.) People should be aware that the Lodge, while listed as a part of the resort, is 1/4 of a mile down the road from the main resort. Fine for a stopover, but not for a resort experience. The price was right and included breakfast and dinner. Having said that, we weren't too impressed with dinner which was dry turkey & stuffing with the usual. What we loved best about our stay was wandering about the grounds and visiting the historic sites -- Maine state building, as well as two former manufacturing buildings, and just sitting back and drinking in the natural beauty of the 500 acres. We were particularly fond of just sitting on the porch at the main building and enjoying a cup of coffee or glass of wine. Our room was cozy and comfortable, complete with photos of Martin Van Buren (we were in the presidential Inn). Bed was a tad squishy and we could've used more pillows but it was overall very comfortable. One night after a busy day we enjoyed a movie in the basement "theater." Looked in at their small-scale gym which appeared nice.

Every year the women in my family and I come to Maine. Usually we are in the Ogunquit/Wells area, but we decided to try Poland Spring this year as a more affordable choice, and I am happy we did. It was perfect for my grandmother, who had the opportunity to socialize and meet a lot of wonderful people. All I needed were the view from the front porch and the rocking chairs, but also made use of the gym (basic but comfortable and clean), the trails, tennis courts (need some work for the balls to bounce better, but fun, and the pool. The food is traditional comfort fare, nothing fancy, but good. We were pleased with our meals and only decided to eat out one night at Cyndi's...their chowder is really good! Sleeping accommodations are basic and clean. What I can't get over is how friendly and accommodating all the staff are. They work hard to make sure everyone is taken care of and enjoying their stay. Yes, the place needs some updating, which it seems management is well aware of and makes continual improvements. My only wish is that there were more bookings for the winter so that the Maine Inn would be open. I would love to come up for a week and be able to sit in the lobby reading and looking out at a snow-covered view!

We stayed in the Lodge at Poland Spring Resort in early June for two nights when we came to the area for a wedding. The location was perfect for the wedding. The Lodge was comfortable and very quaint. It was like stepping back in time and we really liked it. Our son and girlfriend also came for one night. I wasn't sure how they would feel about the place but they were quite happy with their room. The staff was very nice. All in all a very pleasant stay.

We went to Poland Spring Resort for Golf outing. I will be honest and a bit blunt but staying there depends on what you are looking for and how much you are willing to spend. We spent about $175 a person for the weekend and thats what we got. The food was average at best, the house we rented had no internet, cable and the hot water heater was small. The golf was fun and overall, the company we were with was great so we left with a smile.

To think you can pay $200 a head and get a luxurious stay is unrealistic. I would never take my wife here or go for a "weekend getaway" but for what we wanted it worked.

My wife and I have been coming summers to the Resort since 2007 having been introduced
to the Inn at a Columbus Day Weekend in 1999. The Poland Spring Resort is unique, quaint
and charming. It reflects and respects Old New England keeping its core values and ALWAYS
respecting the needs of EVERY guest. The accomodations are not extravagant but a very long
way from basic. The atmosphere is relaxed and allows guests to engage in tradtional summer
activities without any strict agendas or schedules. Management ALWAYS responds to any
needs or concerns right away. The staff could not be more courteous or helpful or friendly.
Whether you visit for the very first time or return summer after summer respect truly is the
order of the day. It is beyond amazing how the owner, Cyndy Robbins, continues to offer
full accomodations at such attractive prices way lower than commercial hotels or other resorts.
What's nice is that rowdy behavior by guests is never tolerated. Leave your 'party antics' and
immaturity at home or take it somewhere else. Disrespect is never welcome! If your vacation
budget is limited and you enjoy the cordial hosptiality of an old New England Summer Resort
pack your bags! And, don't forget the golf clubs. The 18 hole course is beyond excellent
in both design and layout. It's both a challenge and an absolute pure golfing experience.
You'll never regret your relaxing vacation days spent at the Poland Spring Resort in the
heart of Maine. Let it exceed your expectations, especially the home style country cooking.

Room Tip: Consider rooming at the Lodge <> really a great value and only a three minute drive to the M...
