First and foremost, Erin is the biggest sweetheart and tries to accommodate you as best as she can. We did not see Scott but I talked to him on the phone and he was very nice. The bed and breakfast itself was really beautiful and clean. They have a great assortment of snacks and really awesome oatmeal cookies(and I'm not even that big of a oatmeal cookie fan), but they were homemade and delicious. It is located near a great part of town where a lot of restaurants and bars are located. We went to Grace, which is a church turned into a bar. It is beautiful and worth going to for at least a drink. Chadwick also has wine you can drink for a small price and specialty orders you can have if they know in advance. The breakfast was really delicious as well. We had cinnamon raisin French toast with sausage and fresh fruit. There was not a drop of syrup left on my plate, just really really delicious. Overall, I could not be happier that we chose to stay at Chadwick. There's a reason their always booked well in advance, so try to get lucky and reserve a room, you will not regret it! Thanks for everything Chadwick! We will be staying with you next time we come to Portland.

We were in town for just one evening, did a quick B&B search and this was at the top of the list. Called to see if they had a room for the evening, had to leave a message but our call was promptly returned. We booked a room but arrived late. The after hours check in was very clear and easy. Found our room with ease. Both the room and bathroom were very clean and in great order. The property in general was very clean and in great order. Felt very welcome and enjoyed our stay. Thanks for the positive experience!

We stayed 2 nights April 14 & 15 2014 in the Chamberlain Room. No ensuite bathroom is NOT a problem!! Two luxurious terry robes were provided for our trips to the large private bathroom just steps away...never ran into any other guests enroute, even though the Inn was fully booked.

The room was elegant...nice electric fireplace, with flat screen TV including a DVD player...(DVD's available to borrow in "parlor", but feel free to bring your own.) Large windows which open easily for a nice cool evening breeze. King bed was more comfortable than home!

We arrived to the aroma of homemade granola, which wafted through the whole Inn....mmm!! The innkeeper, Scot, greeted us with an apology for having to turn the granola! Then a nice tour of the beautiful Victorian inn...such atmosphere and welcome! Next thing my husband noticed was the large bowl of M&M's by the front door! Followed by the snack buffet in the dining room... huge homemade cookies, snack bars, fruit snacks, lots of variety...there for the taking!

Scot sat with us with a complimentary map of Portland and headed us in the directions we wanted to explore. The parlor offered a guest refrig. stocked with water bottles and seltzer. A large selection of reasonably priced wines were available on the honor system, complete with nice wine glasses and corkscrew. This honor system was a very special touch in our estimation...a return to the world as we love it. As for the breakfasts... elegant...classy...delicious...filling...beautifully presented. Staff was friendly and genuine. Basically...all the T's are crossed and I's dotted in this very friendly, obviously well-run B & B by people who love what they do and take pride in details.

We are looking forward to our next visit..in any room that is available...they are all unique and restful.

Many thanks from Steve and Bev Graham from Danbury CT

This place is a nice place to stay if you are visiting Portland. We had the Baxter room and it was indeed a private and quiet room. The room is not that large so if you prefer a larger space you should stay in another room. I believe this was the smallest room. I really liked the fact that the really large bathroom was directly across the private hallway. Scott the innkeeper prepared fantastic breakfasts in the morning. Be prepared that the breakfast served hours are from 8:00am to 9:30am. This was not your usual continental breakfast (muffins, cereal or toast). He also placed out free little snacks, coffee, tea, seltzer and bottled water for convenience throughout the day. Wine was available for a fee. The inn is about a mile from Portland's old port. It was easy to walk which we did the whole time of our stay.

Room Tip: If you are in Portland on a Friday night the Art Museum is free.

Just enjoyed a three night stay at this well located property. Super clean and comfortable accommodation. A exceptional staff anticipated for every need in advance and the few requests were graciously and enthusiastically provided for immediately, The common areas are well decorated and comfortable. Very quiet in city location that was very convenient to all the side trip and dining choices that were made.

We only spent one night in Portland, ME, but were thrilled with our night at the Chadwick Bed & Breakfast. The welcome we received was so warm and our room was so comfy that we were immediately enchanted. We had time to enjoy a glass of wine in the front sitting room before we had to rush off for our evening's entertainment. When we returned, we enjoyed a warm and peaceful night's rest. And the breakfast the next morning was spectacular! We left with our appetites fully satisfied by a wonderful meal. We look forward to staying at the Chadwick B & B when we next return to town.

Room Tip: The Chadwick Room is large and outfitted with an electric fireplace and a king size bed.
