We went here following the other great reviews of this secluded spot. As others mentioned it's a really sweet spot. However make sure you're going to the right place, the TripAdvisor maps makes it look like it's actually in the downtown area near Lincoln Park, but that's not true (it's just the "city center" marker, I guess...). It's really down in the Fore River Sanctuary (see http://www.mainetrailfinder.com/trail/fore-river-sanctuary/ ),
After going to the downtown location marked, we quickly realized that was not there. But we're stubborn so we didn't give up and went to the real Jewell Falls (that's two "l"s on the Jewell). Point your GPS or phone to 300 Rowe Ave and you'll see the signs leading down there. The trail was a bit muddy and we didn't come prepared for that, but otherwise it was a great experience. There were a few other folks around, some families and runners with dogs, etc. Really pretty falls with a foot bridge and pretty sweet! A nice good exercise and a fun free way to spend an hour.
