Lots of shops on and off Commercial Street in the "Old Port" area - I mean LOTS of shops, bars, restaurants. The water side of the street has a lot of "fisherman's wharf" restaurants. Lots of options - fun.

Really enjoyed walking the streets of Portland last night although the temps were in the low teens with a stinging wind chill. LOVE the LED lights strung throughout the entire downtown area, especially along Congress St. The colorful orbs hung from buildings and over roads, trees wrapped tightly in brilliant and bold blues, violets, reds and pinks. There are plenty of places to dine or chill and an extraordinary variety of galleries and retail, including a head shoppe with amazing glass pipes, works of art in their own right.

this was the only bar in Portland that was open on Christmas day ..the staff was friendly however they offered nothing to eat..Very disappointed that Portland had nothing else to offer...some of us do not have the opportunity to spend this Holiday with our families and looked forward to have a place to go to ..Thank goodness that the Regency Lounge opened at three...otherwise Portland was closed..

There were many shops and the newly relocated Edgecomb potters. A great shop and a lot of ambiance as you can see the harbor and ships in the distance. Even with the snow falling it was very busy and made Christmas Shopping even more fun.
