We spent two nights at The Inn a Park Spring over Veteran's Day weekend. Debbie, the inn keeper welcomed us after allowing an early check in so we could get to a tour we had booked (a foodie tour! awesome!) with a little tour and info session. The Inn is really nicely decorated, especially as it has ony been under the current ownership since September and it is very convenient to Old Port which is great. There were freshly baked shortbread cookies (yummy!) in the dining room and other snacks, water and hot teas always available. We stayed in the basement room with it's own entrance. It was a nice room with a comfy bed but awkward bathroom. This room is not long for visits though as Debbie told us they will be remodeling it soon making it into a two level suite! Sounds great! Breakfast the first morning was a lovely appetizer of yogurt and fruit/nuts and fresh banana bread. the entree was a pumpkin puree filled crepe. YUMMMM! Coffee is fresh and if you are a decaf drinker like me, Debbie will make a special pot! Breakfast day two was made by the Inn's owner Buddy. Amazing Eggs Benedict with a lovely tomato sauce. All in all our stay was very nice. The Inn is nice, breakfasts gourmet, location is perfect and inn keeper friendly and helpful! We can't wait to visit again so we can enjoy the Inn and do more exploring in Portland!

Thank you so much for the kind words on the Inn. We are the new owners of the Inn as of September of this year, with major changes going on. Room 6 is our first project of the new year. Rooms 5 & 6 will become the Park Spring suite. A 2 floor suite, with a large living room with a nice small kitchen with the master bedroom upstairs. Again thank you so much for your feedback and of course the kind words on our new adventure if the Inn at Park Spring
Warm regards

First let me say being a gay couple staying at a BB can be a little apprehensive. I did my research and this BB was gay friendly but you still never know. We stayed just one night on November 8th 2013. We had a little trouble finding the place so Debbie, the inn keeper, was outside enthusiactically waving at us with a smile. She greeted us and welcomed us in. Debbie showed us around and it was absolutely charming! She gave us a brief history of the Inn and brought us to our room. We stayed in Guest Room #1. It was so adorable! It had a great feeling of warmth and charm. It was the only room with an electric fireplace, which came in handy in the chilly night of November. It was a great location, about a 15 minute walk from Old Port. Debbie made delicious shortbread cookies when we returned from our night out, it was surely a pleasant surprise. In the morning, Debbie cooked scrambled eggs, cheddar biscuits and a hash brown casserole. Before that they served fresh fruit with some yogurt accompanied with fresh coffee and tea. This was the perfect little get away that was well deserved. I recommended the Inn at Park Spring to all my friends and will be returning in the Spring.

Thank you guys for the very nice note on tripadvisor. It means a lot when we have guests take the time to write a review on our new Inn. We took over the Inn September of this year so a lot of new plans in the works for this beautiful little Inn. Thank you so much for the kind words and please come and visit us again.
Warm Regards

Stay here one night as part of road trip of New England. Prebooked via the internet and on the basis of price and previous reviews. We had a room downstairs in the basement which had its own back entrance which was convenient for unloading suitcases. There is free parking which was also useful and this was just around the block. The room was fine, the bathroom was a little small. The bed comfortable and the room was warm. We were also able to help ourselves to free snacks and water. The breakfast was very good - pumpkin pancakes and there was tea/coffee/juice.

According to the new inn keeper this has been recently refurbished by themselves when they bought it and this was been tasteful done with wooden floor in the lounge and breakfast room and a piano in the lounge. Apparently the room we stayed in is going to be redesigned and refurbished.

Free wi-fi here as well.

This is the perfect Inn if you are staying in Portland. The building is impressive from the outside and common space including the breakfast room and living room are very nicely decorated and the rooms are fantastic. We arrived about two hours early but we were welcomed by Deborah who showed us around the Inn and told us our room was already to check nto which was a bonus. Deborah was the perfect host and her Pumpkin and Chilli muffins were amazing!!! One of the best breakfasts we have ever had. Along with all of the other freshly made goodies we were treated too. She was a constant source of information giving us some good points of interests to visit. Bonus- we got to meet Buddy on our final morning and his eggs benedict were delicious.
Many thanks to both of you. The NY Giants fans from England - Told you they would get their first win!!

We booked this Inn while trying to get a room at The Carleton while on our way south from Camden for the night. As it turns out, Buddy, the owner of The Carleton, recently bought the Inn at Park Spring (on the corner of Park and Spring Streets). The property was nice, with some new upgrades (we were told by Host DEBORAH) and it was very comfortable. Comfortable bed, good shower, towels could be better and good location. My wife and I walked to Old Port In about 15 minutes, where we ate at Boones, which Deborah recommended. It was great food and I highly recommend if you want good Maine Seafood. We took a cab back and it cost less than $5.00 for the ride, definitely a bargain! Only downside is the steep narrow stairs and hating 2 heavy suitcases up and down to/from the third floor. Also, the entry steps from the street would be wide enough to easily carry 2 suitcases if they didn't put flower pots on the stairs making it a bit of a challenge. They also served a nice breakfast in the morning. Overall a nice place to stay. I would stay there again.

Room Tip: Unless you are a strong climber, avoid the third floor.

I stayed here with my husband for 3 nights. We stayed in Room 4, on the third floor. This room is very spacious and has a wonderfully comfortable, large bed.

We very much enjoyed the breakfasts, and in particular, the pumpkin scone that was served one morning was delicious! (we could smell this baking when we woke up, from our room!). The afternoon sweet treats were also very tasty!

Deborah, the assistant inn keeper, was very welcoming and gave us some great pointers. The inn itself is handily located for downtown, and we could easily reach all the restaurants/shops etc without difficulty! A great base for exploring a great city!

The Inn at Park Spring is a beautiful B&B in the heart of the Port District in Portland Maine. We stayed one night after seeing a show at the Port City Music Hall. The venue was a short (safe) walk from the Inn, and if you're seeing a show at the State, this venue is even closer. We stayed in Room 2 (on the second floor) which had been newly upgraded with a fresh coat of paint. The room was beautifully decorated, and the room and the bathroom were more spacious than expected. Apparently, Buddy, the new owner, has big plans for further upgrades and renovations in 2014. The peanut butter cup brownies were a delicious nighttime treat, and breakfast, which consisted of a mango, pear and apple fruit crisp, and crabcake and egg cup, were just what we needed on the morning after. Buddy and Deborah, the inn keepers, are very kind and enthusiastic, and care deeply about the comfort of their guests. This inn is very clean and comfortable, and we would definitely stay here again. Hopefully we will be able to stay longer on our next visit.
