“Great Speciality Sandwich Shop”
Reviewed 24 April 2013

Located in the Woodford neighborhood of Portland this little sandwich shop is a find. The menu specializes in all natural soups and Panini sandwiches. The menu is limited to nine different Panini sandwiches which seemed to have been selected to cover the tastes of just about everyone. I selected the "Old Fashioned" which consisted of Black Forest Ham, Prosciutto, tomatoes, romaine lettuce, pickles and a hot pepper relish served on a fresh baked square roll.
My wife selected the "Back Shore" which had Black Forest Ham, red grapes, brie, blue cheese, organic baby spinach and a balsamic reduction again served on a fresh baked square roll. Of course the both sandwiches were toasted. Neither sandwich was small and they certainly were tasty and filling. The prices were extremely reasonable at $7.50 per sandwich. The list of other sandwiches that comprise the menu are composed of other type meats and also a veggie type Panini. The soup consists of a "Rundown Stew", a spicy Caribbean chowder with curry, coconut mile and root vegetables as well as a Soup of the Day. There is also a "Sweet Panini" which consists of three different variations of PB&J. Then there is the Milk Shakes, both Dutch Chocolate or French Vanilla or the Maine Root Beer Float or the Maine Root Orange Cream Float. The Shakes are $5 and the Floats are $3.75. I spoke with the owner who said that he is using all premium meats and as many locally produced vegetables as he can get. The bread is baked locally and delivered every morning. He also intends to search out local cheese produces from the Farmers Markets. The shop is small and only has four tables however most of the orders are for take out. All the sandwiches are made fresh to order. Parking is on the street. I would not hesitate to recommend this little shop when you want a really delicious and filling Panini.
