“Nice pizza choice”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 5 January 2014

We phoned ahead for a dough (not flatbread) pizza and glad we did because when we went to pick up, the restaurant was packed. We had the no-nitrate pepperoni /mushroom pizza and really enjoyed it. The large pizza was a little pricey, but probably due to the fresh specialty ingredients. We’d return.

“go for the hot fudge”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 17 December 2013 credit card Amex Cardmember Review

They the best hot fudge and a good quality ice cream, the hot brownie is good also but after salad and pizza there is only so much room left. the pizza toppings are local whenever they can get them and freshness is number one there. Staff is very efficient and will make suggestions for you to help.

“Flatbread Company”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 11 December 2013

I had the opportunity of eating at Flatbreads when on a visit to Portland, Maine. When I got there, I could see several groups of friends, couples and families with their children enjoying themselves in a lively atmosphere. The food served tasted good and there were also a nice selection of beer to go with it. I relish the fact that only organic ingredients were used in the preparation of the flatbread. The Flatbread Company's location on the Portland waterfront makes it a great place for the summer.

“Consistently excellent”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 28 November 2013

This waterfront pizzeria with an old fashioned wood stone oven has been a family favorite for years since moving to Maine. The pizzas are often locally sourced, flatbread pizza cooked in the wood oven, which is in full view of the tables. The goat cheese or bleu cheese salads are fresh with excellent quality vegetables and greens. It's a great place for families and most often we go with multiple families. The staff is attentive and kid-friendly (crayons & paper as well as uncooked dough to play with). The beer selection is excellent with local brews (Geary's, many others) as well as less commonly found craft brews (Oxbow, others). I have found broad agreement that this place is enjoyed among grandparents, wives, husbands, kids, couples, and anyone who likes pizza. They have vegetarian-friendly options as well as humanely raised (think Whole Foods style) meats for the pizza options. I'm hungry just writing this review. It is a little pricey for pizza, in a similar way to groceries purchased from Whole Foods or another conscientious food seller. I do not find the prices too high, but don't expect barain slices of pizza (in fact, they don't offer slices due to the wood fired oven mode of cooking).

“Has it all. Great views. Great Flatbread!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 26 November 2013

We never tire of this wonderful restaurant. Love the location, especially in the summer months.
Wonderful aroma of wood burning fire and spices when you walk in. Flatbread is a nice change from your standard pizza slab. Delicate flavors. (Jay's Heart is a favorite) The salads are wonderful. Love that the food comes from local, sustainable and organic locations. Very welcoming and spacious.
