I have Edgecomb Potters pieces the we bought in the '70's at their Route 27 studio on the way to Boothbay Harbor where we would spend summer vacations. We met Richard then and were impressed with his unique designs and prefect quality. On a recent trip to Portland we stopped at the Starbuck's on Commercial Street and noticed the Edgecomb Potters Gallery next door at 145 Commercial Street. The address on this site is their old location. We have been looking for a spoon dish for our new kitchen stove. I mentioned we were looking for a spoon dish in a red glaze to the salesman and he went to the back and brought out several for us to compare. That is exactly what Richard did for us decades ago. We bought two because we couldn't decide. This is a great gallery with beautiful handcrafted practical items for your home or for gifts.

Edgecomb Pottery, i.e. Edgecomb, ME and Portland, Maine - is a great place to find special jewelry along with new designs for cups and dinnerware pieces. We enjoy the large original location in Edgecomb, and dropping in at the Portland location while we stay at Inn By The Sea. We have the 'whale tale' cups in all patterns and several serving dishes. We will make another visit to the Portland location next time we are in the area.

The Edgecomb store has an upper level with stairway access; the Portland Store will be in its new location and we haven't been there yet. The street level in Portland will be across from DiMilos Floating Boat Restaurant on Commercial Street.

I love edgecomb pottery, they use bright colors and designs such as their whale tail mug and hearts. There pottery is well made and timeless, and well priced. I have given multiple pieces as gifts and always have happy recipients. They also sell amazing jewellery from other artisians. They are looking to move down to Commercial street just down from the Leroux the kitchen shop. I can't wait until they move to their new location.
