“Live here”

There are few places in Maine as unspoiled. Bailey Island is the most lovely, but they are all beautiful. If you go, don't just do a quick tour...stay a night and see a sunset over the water and more stars than you can imagine in a deep blue sky.

“Lovely way to experience the Casco Bay islands”
Reviewed 19 November 2012

So relaxing to just take the ferry and visit the islands. You can get off the ferry and walk around an island, get back on the next ferry and try another island or just stay on the ferry and enjoy the simple boat ride. Love it and do it every year.

“Mail Boat”
Reviewed 8 November 2012

We took the 3 hour mail boat "cruise." It was so relaxing, a beautiful way to see the islands and to experience some of Maine's gorgeous landscapes. It was cold and windy, just what we wanted. Brisk, crisp air -- bring a hat and a warm jacket! Such fun, so relaxing and we met some cool people on the boat, too!

“Peaks Island”
Reviewed 31 October 2012

We took the late afternoon trip to Peaks Island because it was only 20 minutes away. The island is small, but we walked around (there are golf cart tours available with advance notice) Not much to do - it was foggy and cold. Definately really nice on a sunny day - beautiful views- bring a picnic or nice market to buy lunch. Only $7.50 round trip per person.

“Don't Miss The Islands!”
Reviewed 21 October 2012

Casco Bay Lines makes it possible to really go and have a great experience via ferries that leave the Ferry Terminal on a set schedule. Long Island has wonderful, friendly people and gorgeous beaches. A sunset cruise or an afternoon trip on the water when it is calm is relaxing and worth every penny. In summer, it can be crowded, so try to get there early enough to purchase tickets and be assured a good seat. Islanders are generally down to earth, hard working folks who have chosen to live lives differntly from the city buzz.
