Morrill Mansion was a fantastic visit. I really enjoyed staying here and look forward to doing it again. The room was amazing and so clean. The bathroom was equally as nice. The owner was wonderful and very accommodating. He was helpful at choosing places to eat and had wonderful coffee/tea and goodies for guests. The Whoopie pies were particularly tasty! Breakfast was delicious with pancakes and scones, although I was hoping for a meat of some kind. However, it cannot be denied, they were some of the best pancakes I had had in a while. I look forward to returning! (I will say that my flight was cancelled and had to spend an extra night in Portland. I did try to stay at Morrill Mansion, unfortunately he was booked for the night. :( Alas, you can't blame people for wanting to stay at such a fantastic place!)

We really liked this place and enjoyed our three night stay there. Booking online was very easy and the website does a great job of showing each room. Room was very clean, though (as with any New England B&B) the bathroom was very small. Liked that the owner had a separate casual living room for everyone on the second floor, had stations in various places in the B&B to make coffee and tea, and had a large cabinet of DVDs to borrow. Very good breakfasts - the day where he made varios egg dishes and bread pudding was the best. Overall this B&B was very clean and beautifully decorated. Only negative on this B&B is that it is a healthy 1 to 1.5 mile walk to downtown and harbor.

Room Tip: Use the website...it is very good for selecting the best room for you at the price that you are looking for.

Well appointed three story bed and breakfast with larger than a hotel accommodations and then add the breakfast plus afternoon treats, what more can a person ask for. Comfy bed, soft linens, even soft toilet paper. Loved it and would definitely stay again.

Room Tip: We were in the McGuire room on the 3rd floor in front corner and never heard another sole, perfect size for my husband and I.

We spent two nights at Morrill Mansion in late May. We had a spacious, well appointed room on the third floor, facing the street, complete with a working fireplace, ceiling fan, sofa in a sitting area, and refrigerator. David is a gracious inn keeper who is willing to share recommendations for restaurants or sightseeing. He is also a talented baker. There are fresh baked goodies each afternoon along with ice tea or lemonade. There is hot tea or coffee available on each floor, 24/7. A breakfast buffet is set up in the butler's pantry each morning. It is lined with many choices, both hot and cold. We liked the inn's location, and we enjoyed the walk to various restaurants or to see the large mansions that line the streets behind the hospital. David keeps his inn immaculately clean, too. He thinks of many little details for his guests, such as storing little bags of ice in a freezer on the second floor or having serrated spoons to use with the pink grapefruit. He also has a collection of several hundred DVD's for use with the guest room DVD. There is a small parking lot on the property for guests' cars and there is convenient parking right out the front door on the street. We enjoyed our stay and would recommend this B & B to others who want to stay in a beautiful old Portland mansion that is clean, safe, well-located, and run by the owner/manager. Thank you, David!

Very good B&B, a little out of town, but a wonderful walk to the center of town. We had the "Baked bean special rates" for the room and were pleased with it for one night. The owner was very helpful and is available for any information. Good place to stay.
