The new name is Rangeley Inn and Tavern. The inn is nice but would not recommend it for dinner. Not too many places to choose from in Rangeley but take my word for it, don't go unless you want raw burgers, cold food, and want to wait for a couple hours.

Attached to the landmark Rangeley Inn, the Pour House was a mainstay pub and restaurant that underwent various changes over the many decades (century?) of its existence. Along with the Rangeley Inn dining room, these two establishments shared the same kitchen in the Rangeley Inn. After an apparent change of ownership earlier this year, neither the Pour House nor the Dining Room are open. There is no indication either by signage out front or on the website, regarding future plans. We hope both will reopen soon.

A year ago I would have given it a 5 star rating. Now mediocre. Three of us had the chicken pot pie with only one of us getting more than a piece of chicken. My wife had a fish dish that was very good. Jackalope at the bar very rare so worth seeing :-). I heard the chef they had left and boy the food quality left with him. This trip was in July so maybe the chef has returned or a new one has come in. The atmosphere especially in the winter with the fireplace crackling is great. Would hate to not have it available this winter.

Excellent menu and delicious selections that will make it difficult to choose from on the menu. The wait staff is attentive and knowledgeable. I highly recommend this restaurant with Brian & Sue running it. Oh and definitely check out the dining room with the tin ceiling which is not always open, but worth it when available.
