If you're a fan of home-made food, whether for breakfast or lunch, and you live in mid coast Maine, this is a "must visit" place. First, the pastries. You'd have to go far to find anything as delicious, whether cream puffs, sticky buns, tiramisu, costini...well you get the point. Made fresh all day long, they are the best we've had in Maine. Then, combine the pastries with an omelet for breakfast or an innovative sandwich for lunch, and you've got a real meal. Try Annabella's and you'll go back for more. We did!

A local hot spot with good simple food. You are treated like a friend when you walk through the door. Menu is not large, but big isn't always good. Stuffed waffles a treat. Expect to walk away full and with a smile on your face. Grab a loaf of rosemary bread and a scone to go.

You're a stranger here very briefly. Granny and granddaughter equally pleased by the food. In season there's guitar music on the sidewalk. Excellent baked goods here or to take home: scones, rosemary bread, sugary buns. Cheerful service, but nobody's in a hurry. A worthy successor since Jack Baker made his [maybe] "last stand". Under priced.

We actually went to Richmond to go to another restaurant but found it to be closed. As we went around the corner to Front St, we came upon Annabella's which is billed as a Bakery & Cafe. It was doing a brisk business so we figured that was a good sign. My husband ordered a doughnut & coffee and I had tea & a blueberry scone (Yeah I know but we were on vacation, we will eat healthy when we get home). Both were very large, you could share, but you wouldn't want to!
I have to say that scone was THE best scone I have ever had. Absolutely delicious wish I had one right now. Annabella's offers a fairly comprehensive breakfast menu, omelets, french toast, pancakes, oatmeal & soups, wraps & sandwiches for lunch. It's located across from a very nice park which is on the Kennebec River.
Very friendly staff, get some cookies to go!
