We just walked in off the street with no reservations - my daughters and a friend. It was about 8:00pm, but there was room at the communal table in the back. Highlights: Great atmosphere, good people. A real jem in the Maine wilds. Mel gave us some spot-on wine pairings. The creamy pate' and cheese board was a hit with all of us, the duck entree was perfect, the beef tenderloins, in addition to being buttery in texture (no knife needed) came with warm blue cheese topping and perfectly-cooked beets ... and PERFECTLY prepared (this from a world-traveling filet junky) the rigatoni lamb ragout was a big hit with my daughter. Desserts - the creme brulee was not as thick as we are used to, but was delicious, the chocolate cake was good, the blueberry tart was probably the pick of the bunch. So fresh. This is a must-stop find if you are staying in or passing through Rockland.
To Mel and team - thank you for a wonderful, wonderful memory for my daughters and me. It was a really special night. Well done!
