Upon arrival we were upgraded to oceanfront balcony with double queens. We really appreciated this little perk that came as soon as we walked in. Impressive outdoor bar and accommodations were flawless. Very quiet setting all around. Walked out to the breakwater and watched the schooners sail by on the way out on their weeklong jaunts. An absolutely fabulous spot for a little getaway. Planning on returning in winter as the fireplace looked very inviting.

Room Tip: Ocean front really worth it.

Dear Connie989,

Words such as flawless, fabulous, and impressive are what we aim for when our guests walk through the door. I was glad to read of your upgrade and the see that you fully enjoyed your stay with us. Although I can’t exactly take credit for the perfect vision of a sailing schooner passing by the Rockland breakwater, I absolutely appreciate such a view right along with you.

With Warm Hospitality,

Cornelius J. Russell

You can go to Samoset to relax in the midst of the numerous amenities and never leave the grounds, or, you can stay there as a base of operations to take advantage of the considerable opportunities to site see, eat great food, shop, and/or, simply enjoy the natural beauty of Maine. The resort sits on the bay with a great view of the water and the breakwater lighthouse. The golf course is lovely. There is an indoor and outdoor pool. The onsite restaurant serves up a range of different menu choices. There is a large spa on site. The lobby area has nice seating and outdoor balcony areas. You can roam the grounds and walk out on the breakwater. Sitting and reading in the sunshine or in your room is just fine. But if you prefer to be on the go then take a day trip to Acadia National Park, a boat ride to an island esp. Monhegan Island, shop the numerous antique stores, pick up some local art, go to the LL Bean stores and outlets, or, drive out to the shore and sit on the docks for a fantastic fresh lobster dinner. The rooms are nice, clean and have comfortable furnishing and bedding. We did not hear any outside noise. The AC was good. Our room was a 1 bedroom with balcony. Views were great. Kitchen was small but adequate for two guests. A family of four might be crowded. TVs were flat screen with one in the bedroom and one in the living room. Bathroom was small with a combo tub and shower. There are no elevators for the rooms in buildings 600, 700, 800, and there will be steps to navigate unless you are on the middle level. Steps are shallow so not too steep in climbing. There was an elevator in the lobby area. Staff was friendly and helpful.

I hope this information was helpful to you.

Room Tip: Higher floors have wider views.

Dear SPN21,

What a wonderful review not just for the Samoset, but also for showcasing all the exciting activities available in our area. It’s quite possible that you may need a vacation from your vacation.

The many details you included about your timeshare condominium will certainly be helpful to other travelers considering staying with us. If there was anything in your long list of doing everything or nothing which you missed then we will look forward to welcoming you back.

We have stayed at this resort several times both pre-renovation and since the updates (restaurant, pool, etc.). We always have wonderful services and our kids LOVE this place. The indoor and outdoor pools are their favorites and the outdoor pool has incredible views. We went for Easter weekend and had an incredible brunch at La Bella Vita - they even accommodated my daughter wit gluten-free toast which she so much appreciated! The views are fantastic and there is plenty of room for kids to explore and have fun! We stayed at a cottage on the water and enjoyed the views and attention to detail. The staff made us feel so welcome and we all end up leaving Maine feeling refreshed and renewed!

Room Tip: The cottages have incredible views and great attention to detail!

Dear Vicki N,

We appreciate your kind review and the unique perspective you have from visiting our property many times over the years. I am glad to read of your family’s enjoyment of our indoor and outdoor pools, special holiday brunches, and the glorious views we are lucky enough to be surrounded by at our property.

Combine all those features with a stay in one of our luxury cottages and it is, as you wrote, a perfect recipe for being refreshed and renewed. Thank you again. We look forward to seeing you on a return visit.

Great location, good food. Some areas a little dated but overall very worthy of a stay. We have booked family to stay here for a wedding we are having in Northport ME later this year. Management was very helpful planning a day after brunch that the wedding venue we booked couldn't do.
Worth the trip.
