We were heading up the coast to Acadia and wanted to see the area. I read the good reviews of the Ledges which were on the money. The room was big w/ a great king bed & clean bathroom. Located 6 miles so of Camden & 1.5 miles no of Rockland. Easy drive to 3 lighthouses & good places to eat. We both enjoyed Cappys in Camden just up the road (lobster mac & Cheese). Breakfast had very tasty pastries. Be sure to pick the strong setting for you coffee if you're like me. Our 2 night stay was pleasant & we'll be back. This one is a sure thing.

Great location, great view, great blueberry muffins. Rooms were very comfortable and had a great deck..

Wish your price was less for a single person. Also, wish you had cereal and more fruit for breakfast

Clean is big with me - and our room was SPIC AND SPAN clean! They would have let us check in early, but they had just painted our balcony and shampooed our rug. HOORAY!

When you pull up to "Ledges by the Bay" it looks like an old fashioned road-side motor inn, and basically it is - much to my delight! You pull your vehicle right up to the room. I love all things old world - especially CLEAN, updated old world. Andie at the front desk couldn't have been more accommodating. Ask her a question and she's right on top of it: printing out maps and charts, directions, whatever you need. She is friendly and kind.

Amenities:
No restaurant on premises but there is a breakfast room with a view for the continental breakfast of homemade muffins (AMAZING) coffee, juices, yogurt, donuts and pastries. Rooms have a keurig (with 4 cups.) Beautiful pool.

Our Room:
Immaculate! Kudos to the woman who cleaned our 2nd floor room (#31.) It came complete w/a balcony/lovely view - worth paying more! FYI: You WILL have to carry your luggage up one long flight of outside stairs if you rent a 2nd floor room.
Our room had a desk and a small round table, nice sized fridge and a good sized, clean as a whistle bathroom. Note: as with all coastal Maine accommodations, your clothing will get a bit soggy - in my experience this is the trade off when you like to stay right ON the water - well worth it!

Grounds/Pool:
The pool is like unto the room: PRISTINE. In fact when we arrived two gentlemen apologized because they were working on the pool chemistry and we had to wait before going in. Guys, whatever you are doing: keep it up! The pool and the deck around it were immaculately kept and lovely.
The hotel is roadside - but the pool is dipped down a bit on the property so the noise level is low and you can barely see the cars. But if you turn your head the other way you have the stunning harbor view. The grounds are well kept and manicured, very pretty. (BTW, no road noise from the balcony rooms.)

To sum it up this is not a five star type hotel - but it's quaint, clean, updated and lovely. If I'm ever in the area again we WILL stay here!

Room Tip: Pay more for a 2nd floor balcony room.

We stayed overnight with our oldest daughter and her 2 children. What a great experience for the kids 1st hotel adventure. The pool was perfect, the rooms were clean, the view was outstanding and the hotel staff were kind and informative. We are all ready planning our next adventure and we will definitely be staying at the Ledges.

We stayed on our way home from Acadia for one night. We were in room 1, which is closest to the road and was pretty aged. We got to the area in the late morning, but the rooms would not be available until 3:00, so we asked about things to do and places to eat. They gave us some good information, including some back roads to avoid the traffic in downtown Rockland. We got back around 6:00 and checked in. The view form our room was excellent. Even though the building was the oldest, everything was in good order and it was comfortable. The breakfast in the morning was good, with a variety of bagels, danish, etc... There was a very nice room to sit while you eat that overlooks the cove. We would stay again, if we get back to Maine.

Room Tip: The newer rooms are farther from the road and should be quieter. The rooms nearer the road have great views.
