Was in town for a wedding and was fortunate enough to get a room here. Very clean and comfortable and a great price. Gerry and Joline (the owners) were very nice and accommodating. It was great waking up and having our breakfast on the counter that had been put there the night before. If you're staying in the area, I would definitely recommend staying here.

We stayed at the Boardwalk Inn when we traveled to the area for some day hikes on the Appalachian Trail. Our rooms, the Acadia and the Swift River, were immaculate, comfortable, and came with a continental breakfast in each room. The hosts, Gerry and Joline, were very pleasant and offered some ideas on restaurants in the town as well as a brief history of the inn and area.
The Inn is located a couple of miles out of Rumford, not quite within walking distance of downtown, but is quite reasonably priced and I would recommend it to anyone traveling to the area.

My husband and I enjoy staying at the Boardwalk Inn and agree that this Inn is a great deal as well as the best place to stay in the area. Gerry and Joline Boudreau are very congenial and accommodating hosts, The rooms are tastefully decorated, extremely clean, comfortable and quiet. The amenities include a mini frig, microwave, and a large flat screen TV, The in-room breakfast is an added bonus, featuring all fresh items such as cereal, milk, coffee, cream, bagels, cream cheese, muffins/pastry, juice and fruit.

Room Tip: The new wing is very spacious, recommend seeing if one of those rooms are available.

We just finished a ski weekend in Rumford and had an amazing stay at the Boardwalk Inn. The owners are incredibly nice and accommodating. The rooms themselves are spacious, clean and updated. We were able to stay here for two nights and it was the best hotel/ bed and breakfast I've ever stayed at. Here are a few highlights:

radiant floor heating
wood floors
comfortable beds
microwave, mini fridge, keurig, toaster
continental breakfast available in the room
nice clean bathrooms
flat screen tv
nice lighting

It's amazing. Definitely worth the stay. I will be back with my husband next year for sure!

Room Tip: We had the "swift river room." it was right by the road but it had more for their kitchen...

We found this place after searching and searching for a place to stay for an unplanned trip to ski SR. Since in my opinion SR is outrageous to stay and has ridiculous pricing structure I was very happy to find the Boardwalk.

The place was immaculate and our hosts were attentive and helpful.

We got one of the rooms up front which had a living room and semi private bedroom. It was spacious and again very clean. It's only a few minutes into Rumford for dinner and took about 20 minutes to get to the access road for SR.

The fresh (in-room) continental breakfast was perfect and more than we needed.

I have stayed at the Boardwalk several times over the years but this is the first time I have reviewed it. It’s owned by Gerry and Joline who both happen to be excellent hosts. To say that they go above and beyond doesn’t begin to describe their hospitality.

The Boardwalk is unlike a traditional B&B in that breakfast is already in your room the night before. Sound odd? Believe me it isn’t. The muffins, breads, homemade granola all are top notch. Coffee is preprogramed to come on at 7 AM (and a full pot it is). This makes so much sense as you have breakfast when you want, at your leisure. If you are the type that likes to sit and sip coffee with the owner than perhaps this isn’t of interest to you. You’ll be missing a quality night’s stay.

On this most recent stay Gerry and Joline both greeted and, calling us by name (and with my last name that is a mouthful!). Having reserved the private suite, the Chisolm, we had our own private entrance with three bedrooms. Everything is spotless and tastefully decorated. We were going to need our coffee earlier so we kicked it on and had coffee and breakfast while preparing to leave. If I had to say anything bad (and it’s really a reach to find anything bad to say) it would be that the AC is a bit too loud. I prefer windows open anyway.

Another fantastic stay and I can’t wait to come back.

Room Tip: If more than 2 people, take the Chisolm suite.

So glad that we found this amazing B&B. Have never seen a more organized and stylish B&B. Joline greeted us by name and was very cordial. The outside was clean and inviting. Our room was immaculate and furnished with quality oak bedroom furniture. The dining set was modern and the decor tastefully finished. Talk about a perfect set-up. Our continental breakfast was in our own room. All we had to do was turn the coffee on. Muffins were huge and delicious. Milk and juice were provided in the refrigerator in our room. Seemed like every last detail was thought of down to glass drinkware, plates and even wine glasses. The bedding was classic, comfortable and of good quality. There even was a cute scrapbook put together outlining the B&B's history; very interesting. If you are planning a trip anywhere near Rumford, Maine this is the place to stay hands down.
