Every time I go to Belfast to visit family we always stop here, on my first night, to have the pot roast. It is fall-off-the-fork moist with the kind of pot roast taste I strive for and seldom achieve. The dinner comes with potato and a vegetable and a big, warm, fluffy roll. The staff are always smiling, the service is timely, the portions are very generous and the price is reasonable. It has become a delicious tradition. The desserts aren't bad either!!! I would definitely recommend for any meal...the blueberry pancakes are plate-sized and loaded with blueberries...a great way to start the day.

Great tasting food, awesome portions, short wait to be seated, and excellent waitress (Kristan) ....she gave great service/conversation all with a smile. Met the owners who were, also, extremely helpful and just plain nice. And to end our meal with delicious dessert. The bread pudding is to die for....at least 5 inches high!

Nothing fancy, but some imaginative items on the menu. Good standard breakfast fare, sandwiches and platters. Interesting takes on chop suey and General Tso's chicken (don't think Chinese). Sandwiches today were tasty, moist and served on homemade bread. The open faced hot turkey sandwich was made with real turkey meat, not turkey roll. The French fries seemed to be homemade but were limp. The desserts also looked to be homemade and yummy-- but we didn't dare try them. The waitstaff was friendly. All in all, the trip to Searsmont was worth making.

Although Mid-Coast Maine is fortunate to have many excellent restaurants, we go out of our way to eat at the Olde Mill Diner because of its warm and friendly atmosphere; large, varied menu; delicious homecooked meals; generous portions; and outstanding bakery items and desserts. The staff and service are excellent and, if you're lucky, you'll have the chance to talk with the owner/baker who is delightful and oh so talented. You won't soon forget her yeast rolls, gingerbread cake, blueberry pie, cinnamin rolls, or muffins. We've always enjoyed our meals and had a wonderful time. Check it out...you won't be sorry!!

We were returning from a trip to Acadia and driving south when we thought that we had passed up all the options for a great lunch when we came upon this good-looking diner. What a pleasant surprise. The food was fresh and well-prepared. The sandwiches were big enough to share and the sweet potato fries were outstanding. The gentleman at the next table said that he came every chance he got. We didn't have room for pie or a cooler to bring one home, but we will be sure to stop there the next time we drive to northern Maine. The decor was country and there were lots of pigs around. It was very clean and the guest said that the owners, Debbie and Nate, refurbished it every winter.
Note that they are closed on Mondays and have limited hours at other times: Sundays (7-3), Tuesday-Thursday (7-7), and Friday and Saturday (7-8). Call for winter hours. 207-342-2999. Note that it is cash only.
