Our family decamped here after eating lunch across the road before long journeys home. There is a lovely, relaxed atmosphere with a mixture of furniture so there's something for every age - even well-behaved dogs. We ordered hot drinks so can't judge the alcoholic ones but it's the atmosphere that makes you want to stay forever! I truly wish it was closer.

Visited today with family for a late lunch. The place is nice, small and quiet with quick service. Was disappointed to have missed the late brunch and the menu seemed pretty limited without this.

We decided on the smoked salmon sandwhich was was lovely and a great size with yummy toasted bread. My dad chose the beef sandwhich which was slightly more disappointing. It wasn't beef that we expected but the thin plasticky type with strong cheese and caramelised onions....a slightly odd overwhelming combo.

I would have liked some better sides to go with the sandwhich...no chips, salad or anything which was a shame

I'd go back for the smoked salmon but wouldn't rush back unless the menu was better with more choice and sides

We arrived on a busy ( it is Christmas ) Friday night - 3 friends going on for dinner elsewhere -
A simple order after a short wait at the bar turned into a mammoth task for the young lady serving us - "2 gin and tonics please " "1 vodka lime " simple drinks which we eventually brought to our table 12 minutes later ! A catalogue of ridiculous questions to us of asking us what gin we wanted to being told they only had a bit left , so why ask ? Before whatever Gin was poured the awaiting glasses were picked up and examined by a passing bar man who looked at them for dirt - they were fine but nearly got taken away much to the barmaids upset - Eventually more gin after a long wait appeared from downstairs I think , someone else was instructed to cut the cucumber whilst the barmaid watched - complete confusion over vodka and lime as if it was an alien drink , then major questions about tonic which we simply didn't understand( very very noisy bar) - the amount of tonic tipped into the gin was far too much it destroyed the flavour - we may as well of had pop with the copious children that were running around . We didn't get much change out of £ 20 . ( an undeserving price for shoddy service and spoilt drinks)
We eventually sat down and within 5 minutes a barman tried to clear my friends vodka lime ( almost taking it out of her hand!) which she hadn't finished , sadly he missed twice the half eaten children's dairy lea " stack pack" on the table which really was not in keeping with the place .
To summarise , on a busy night serving high price drinks the service and respect for customers was poor - maybe use some of your profits from the high price drinks to properly train your staff ?
