“lovely motel”
Reviewed 14 May 2013

What a lovely place. Spotlessly clean, well equipped room with fridge and coffee maker, comfortable furnishings, and nice firm bed. It has a pool (unheated!) and while on a main road is set well back so noise is not an issue. The front office staff were very helpful, directing us to a nice restaurant a 2 minute walk away for dinner. Breakfast on the day we left (Saturday) was not till 8am, so we missed that as we had an early start. Will definitely stay there again of travelling through Skowhegan.

Thank you for your excellent review. The Heritage House restaurant (just a few doors away) is truly a gem. While on winter hours breakfast starts at 8 only on Sat & Sun, it begins at 7 am every other day. Starting Memorial Day weekend, we change to summer hours and breakfast will begin at 7 every morning until mid October. We are very glad this guest enjoyed their stay.

I have been staying here in the Towne Motel since last NOV 2012. The rooms are clean & quiet as well comfortable and not overpriced for the comfort. Where the location of this Motel is easy to get to the resturants and downtown area as well as the shopping centers. The service staff is very friendly and will go out of the way to help with ab

Office staff very friendly and accommodating. We stayed there on our way home from Sugarloaf after skiing all day. Was a bit surprised at the cost as it was in March , an off season time and thought 109. was a bit hefty. Room clean and quiet. Great continental breakfast. My only request would be for the Owner to recommend smokers go beyond the door of their motel room to smoke as it does go into other peoples rooms.

We are glad this guest found their room comfortable, clean and convenient to restaurants. These are the qualities we strive for. I would like to ad our room rates are quoted for double occupancy, with an additional charge of $10 for each additional adult. The rate for our newly renovated double queen room during winter months is currently $82. I am assuming this guest was in one of those rooms with four people. With the addition of sales tax the cost most likely was $109. With an abundant breakfast for everyone and 40 minutes from Sugarloaf, many people choose to stay with us and avoid the high cost of resort lodging. We welcome skiers and are glad to accomodate them.

We found this motel through trip advisor en route to Sugarloaf Maine. The staff were very friendly and helpful, the room was super clean with a great shower and they serve an abundant well stocked continental breakfast included with the rate. A big bonus - the motel is 2 doors down from a fabulous restaurant . We will certainly make this a "must stay" on our next trip to Sugarloaf.
A great family owned motel!

What a great place! Our SatNav tried to make us go over a footbridge to get there but we eventually got to the right place and had a great welcome and introduction from very friendly staff. The room was large and very well appointed, the beds were comfortable and everything was spotlessly clean. Breakfast was as good as we've ever had in any motel. The value for money was first rate.

For other meals there are a number of nearby restaurants and a sandwich bar at the garage opposite.

It's a beautiful area and we should have had a week there rather than two nights. A great place to see 'The Fall' and also a great place to view the sky at night through the gin clear atmosphere. Lots of Moose about. We saw the nearby lakes and mountains as well as the coast although the coast took longer than planned because of roadworks.

There is nothing fancy about the Towne. But if you are looking at Skowhegan, you will find that there are not alot of choices. This was an overnight stop to Greenville, after arriving in Portland. Our room was sparking clean and the bed was comfortable. Not bad for $100. Really liked the toiletries, as well. They offer a minimal breakfast. We did not eat there and chose Tim Horton's down the street. All in all a solid choice.

We stayed here overnight on our way from New Brunswick to Quebec. This was my first choice in Skowhegan after reading reviews on tripadvisor. We were able to get a double in mid September for $100. The place was clean and spacious. We were towards the back of the motel and the internet signal was strong enough to prevent cut-outs. If the weather would have been more co-operative we could have used the outdoor pool. Good restaurants nearby and the owner/staff very friendly. Would not hesitate to stay again.
