You will be warmly greeted by Daniel and Dora. From the moment you arrive it is apparent that they are genuinely interested in providing you with a first rate experience. The rooms are fresh, airy and spotless. The wrap around porch is a soothing spot for an afternoon nap. Sweet homemade treats are always available. Need advise as to where to find the best meal, or which hiking or biking trail fits your family….Daniel and Dora have a keen knowledge of the area. But best of all, is the way each day will start. Wake up to the smell of bacon sizzling in the summer breeze. You are in for a breakfast that puts others to shame. From the presentation, to the table side visit from Daniel (chef), you know you are in for a delicious experience. Can't wait to go back!

A last minute opportunity to get away for the weekend led us here, where we were most graciously accommodated and very warmly welcomed by Daniel and Dora. I can't say enough about this wonderful Inn and the keepers that run it. Daniel's breakfasts were very creative and we loved everything he served. So good!! I can't wait to get back, sit on the porch sipping my morning coffee, wondering from the amazing smells drifting from the kitchen what Daniel made for us today. The Inn itself and it's rooms are so unique, (so many books and interesting antique knick knacks!) and pleasing that I want to sleep in each one...experience the splendor of them all. We'll be back soon!

We traveled from London to visit family and couldn't have chosen a better inn! The keepers, Daniel and Dora were so lovely and really made us feel right at home. From the moment we arrived, the service was first class and they definitely paid attention to the details. Our rooms were spotless and very cozy. Breakfasts were home baked along with the daily cookies kept in the living area and fresh lemonade. We especially enjoyed the relaxing atmosphere and sitting around the fire pit in the evenings with a glass of wine. Great for couples and we can't wait to return!

Not only is the Inn at Southwest a charming B&B, but our hosts Daniel and Dora really made it feel like home. They were extremely accomodating, friendly, and genuinely cared for our comfort during our stay. Daniel is an amazing cook...you won't regret breakfast there! Dora greeted us and made us feel like part of her family from the moment we stepped inside. The Inn is very clean and well maintained. Don't miss an opportunity to stay at this awesome Inn run by these amazing people!!

My husband and I were in the Bar Harbor area as part of a road trip. My husband surprised me with two nights at this beautiful B & B. Daniel and Dora were gracious and pleasant hosts. The inn is a lovely old Victorian home filled with all the comforts of home. The breakfasts were extremely creative, healthy and tasty. We enjoyed talking with Daniel and Dora and getting to know them. They are wonderful people! We highly recommend staying at The Inn at Southwest if you are visiting the Bar Harbor/Acadia area. What a gem!

Room Tip: All of the rooms are beautifully appointed and comfortable.

Dora and Daniel nurture their guests in this charming, historic inn. It's a place where time seems to stand still and service is from a bygone era. Breakfasts are sumptuous, two-course affairs that use many local products. A sample breakfast menu: strawberry bruschetta followed by an omelet with locally- smoked shrimp and a fresh fruit salad. Eating such a breakfast out on the inn's gracious porch is a wonderful start to a day of exploration. The inn sits in the lovely village of Southwest Harbor on the western side of Mt. Desert Island. Restaurants, bars, markets, and boutique shops abound and are an easy stroll away. Hikes to points of interest are a few minutes' drive away. We would happily return time and time again.

Room Tip: Rooms on the harbor side are most desirable.

Staying on the quiet side is the only way to go when visiting Mt. Desert Island. The Inn is very charming with great breakfasts and afternoon snacks. You will really feel like a member if the family with Sandy, Daniel and Dora. We highly recommend hiking Acadia which is so conveniently close and you won't pick a bad place to eat within walking distance. The Inn at Southwest Harbor is beyond special! From sunrise to sunset, every turn around this side of the island is breath taking. R-e-l-a-x!
