This was our family's first time to MDI. There are so many places to stay on the island that choosing a location can be challenging. I selected the Lindenwood Inn on the basis of the location (the quiet side) and the reviews. I made the perfect choice and would come here again and again. There are a few things that set this inn apart from many others. The hosts (Fred, Jim) are warm and welcoming, truly genuine in wanting their guests to be well cared for. The staff are truly kind and helpful. Milan welcomed us and gave us a tour of the inn. Esther prepared absolutely scrumptious gourmet breakfasts. We were served each morning by Tanja and Ana who were both lovely and accommodating. We had a great room (Room #2) with an extra sitting area and easy access to the heated pool and hot tub. Our 9 year old daughter especially loved this feature of the Inn and was made to feel very welcome. I observed that many of the guests were return visitors and seemed to be equally enchanted with the Inn and surrounding area. A very special place.

Room Tip: Recommend room in the main Inn.

We recently stayed at the Lindenwood Inn for 2 nights and enjoyed our stay there very much! The innkeepers were wonderful and extremely helpful in steering us toward great restaurants and the best route to take further up the coast on our vacation. The hot tub was awesome, very relaxing after a long day of walking around the harbor town. The breakfast was excellent and we especially enjoyed the sweet girl who served us (can't remember her name). We felt right at home!

Room Tip: All the rooms were very well decorated and comfortable. We stayed in the Main House (Rm #8) which had a very nice private bath with balcony and view of the harbor.

My boyfriend and I stayed here for 3 nights and it was the most amazing experience we have had at any type of hotel/ b&b. The staff was so great along with the complimentary breakfast, we did not want to leave! The location is also perfect since it's right near a small town and lots of restaurants.

Lovely place to stay! Enjoyed meeting Milan who was first to welcome us. Good location and the hot tub was a plus. Room nice but pricey. The harbor was not really easy to see from our deck in room #5. The breakfast was special. Nice to be able to walk into town.

In June of this year my husband and I took our first drive to Maine. Our ultimate destination was Acadia National Park. I was attracted to the "quiet side" of the Island for our stay. The Lindenwood was advertised to be a different Bed and Breakfast experience. We found the Inn to be everything advertised and more. The accomodations were exceptional. We stayed in the third floor suite with the expansive balcony overlooking the water. Not only was the Inn itself beautiful, comfortable and accommodating, but the Innkeepers Jim and Fred made us feel at home and welcome. The ultimate crowning glory of the Inn has to be Esther who prepares and serves the Inn's breakfast everyday. Esther has a wealth of knowledge to share about the area, an encyclopedia of tasty recipes that she has compiled over her many years of serving visitors to the area and a heart as big as gold. Esther, thank you again for taking three days of your time to work on cleaning the spot of red lobster stain from my favorite white jeans!

Room Tip: The third floor suite is fabulous, but the quirky ceilings can be a challenge for anyone over 5'10"
