Neat and clean! Activities planned throughout the week at the clubhouse was nice too. Of course, the view of the harbor was amazing. Just fair warning, be aware of children/people on bicycles around the parking lots. Bicycling is popular in the area. Overall, our honeymoon experience was great!

Room Tip: The higher the room/floor, the better the view!

My parents are owners at Harbor Ridge and were staying there for a week, August 9-16, so my husband and I joined them for three nights. The unit was great, plenty of space, very clean and an easy walk to downtown Southwest Harbor. Overall, it was very quiet and peaceful, yet a quick ride to Acadia for the beautiful sights. My one complaint are the leaky windows and Harbor Ridge's response to them. The first night we were there it rained really hard. My husband and I had placed our cellphones to charge on the window ledge of the lower level bedroom. The windows were locked up tight but rain leaked in from above and soaked our phones. The ringer/vibrate switch no longer works on my iphone so the phone is stuck on vibrate. We tried the phone in rice trick to no avail. The next morning my father spoke with the woman at the front desk and her response was that 'yes, they know the windows leak and they'll be replaced in November', and her response regarding the damaged iphone, 'it will dry out'. Had there been a sign indicating the windows leak in heavy rain, my phone would never have been placed on the ledge and therefore never damaged. I don't expect anything from Harbor Ridge, I just wish they had taken some responsibility for the leaky windows and simply warned their guests. The fact that they are very aware of the problem and did nothing to notify guests is what bothers me the most.

Thank you for taking the time to review our resort. It is unfortunate that your phone was damaged. I apologize for how our staff handled your concern.

Harbor Ridge has had an ongoing problem with leaky windows during wind driven rainstorms due to a design flaw at the time of construction. Owners have been notified through newsletters about the problem, and we have continued to update owners regarding the progress to rectify the situation by replacing doors, windows, and siding. The resort has completed 32 of the 40 townhouses, with hopes to complete the project by the end of 2015.

Mount Desert Island is a special place to visit. Being able to stay in Southwest Harbor at the Harbor Ridge Resort made the visit even more special. Hiking, biking and running from the resort was easy and beautiful mountain tops and seaside walks were within minutes of th Harbor Ridge. Additionally, the resort itself has roomy, clean, light-filled units which are linked with a pool, weight-room and tennis courts. The combination of the nautural beauty so close with the accessories associated with the resort made the stay perfect.

Great place to stay and we will be back! Plenty of room for our family of five! Recommend to families as there was plenty to do! Kids loved the indoor heated pool and the tennis court. I enjoyed the ease of booking online and the friendly staff. Will definitely stay there again in the future.

Harbor Ridge, overlooking Somes Sound as it enters Southwest Harbor, was the perfect spot to visit Acadia National Park and all that it has to offer. The "Quietside" is such a beautiful area from which to start your daily adventures. Hiking, biking, sailing, boating, dining, shopping, sight-seeing are just some of the offerings available to you. Another whole year until we return!!!

Harbor Ridge lies peacefully on a quiet street in Southwest Harbor, Maine. Its three story units offer space and privacy. Units have all basic necessities, even a lobster pot if you want to cook the lobsters yourself. They provide outdoor BBQ grills and picnic tables if you want to do your own grilling. There is a deck outside the living room and one off the upstairs master bedroom. There is also a trail through the woods if you want to walk the shortcut into town. The clubhouse offers several areas to sit comfortably and enjoy the ocean views. The heated indoor pool allows you to swim even on cool Maine nights.

Southwest Harbor is nicknamed "Quiet Side" as it sits on the less busy side of Mt. Desert Island. It is definitely an easy gateway to Acadia National Park, Bar Harbor, and other beautiful ocean towns. The Island Explorer Shuttle Service provides free transportation throughout Acadia and surrounding towns. Park your car in the free parking areas and let someone else do the driving while you sit back and enjoy the scenery to your destination.

Room Tip: This is a timeshare property. All units are similar.
