We were not sure you would find a good tapas restaurant in Southwest Harbor, ME. We were wrong. All a our selections were excellent. Be sure to try the crab dip. Interesting selection of beers and ales. Giant martinis.

It is difficult to rate this place because it is unusual. I have to suspect that some of the prior ratings were done by friends of the restaurant staff. There is no way that 6 of 7 reviewers would rate it excellent, especially for the food.

It is a small place with about a dozen tables plus some bar seating. The service is friendly, and the kitchen sends the food out quickly.

But it was hard to find value on the menu, or for that matter, many appealing dishes. The meatballs were good (have you ever had a bad meatball?), but $11 for four small meatballs? Come on.

To be fair, we stopped here for drinks only. The bartender was young, polite and very nice. So, can't rate the food, but our experience was very relaxing as we sat in the front window and watched cars pass by. It is a beautiful big room and comfy. The wine/drinks we had were just delicious and made a nice closure to the day.

Can't beat the friendliness of the owner/staff for drinks, but the food leaves much to be desired. We've been three times for dinner since they opened in the Fall of 2013 and been disappointed every time. Expensive and not that flavorful. I hate to say that because we could certainly use another year round restaurant in SWH.

We dropped in on a lark as most of the town was still unopened, and was late as well. And were we surprised! The tapas were all fresh and good, colorful and interesting. I was also served a delightful dark ale which I later discovered was Lions. Service was quite good - and friendly too, though I had a hard time hearing the waitress as some of the cliental were rowdy and loud. So I basically replied with a yes to most of what she said. Lucky me !

An excellent choice. We'll miss the Sea Biscuit, which used to nest in this cozy part of town, but welcome to 2nd Wind!
