“Unplanned getaway”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 21 October 2013

An unplanned getaway resulted in a stay at Clark Point Inn in Southwest Harbor. The owners, Jennifer and Mark, were welcoming and knowledgeable of the area. The room we stayed in was spacious, clean and very comfortable. We were lucky that the weather was sunny and the foliage very nice but not at its peak. We came away with some great Christmas presents that we purchased at the inn and overall can't wait to return. Great time of the year to visit this area.

Room Tip: All the rooms looked good but the top floor suite was perfect for us. They do serve breakfast but w...

Some of the best food ever at an inn. A 3 course breakfast that was not only divine but plated like a 5 star!
Quiet and serene. But with a flat panel TV and monster wireless for my digitally driven husband! (Well it WAS Sunday and the Colts were playing the Broncos, so I get it).
Innkeepers were great and it's just one block from the harbor so could see it from our room!
A great stay!

Clark Point Inn was a wonderful find. Jennifer and Mark are outstanding hosts, and she is an excellent chef! The Inn is very comfortable and impeccably clean. Upscale but not fussy ... my kind of place.

What a great place to spend a weekend getaway! Our room (the Amelia Anne) was clean and beautiful. The dining area is small but cute, and there is a lovely screened-in porch that is great to sit-in and read, eat some of the delicious treats Jennifer made, or just look out at the ocean view. Very relaxing.

Southwest Harbor, though far less busy than Bar Harbor, is quaint with many restaurants and shops. We spent most of our time either in Acadia National Park or around the Bar Harbor area, so I thought it was the best of both worlds to come back to the Clark Point Inn at night, where it is peaceful and quiet (Bar Harbor is lovely, but quite touristy).

Jennifer & Mark were fabulous hosts, and served some of the more delicious three-course breakfasts we've ever had--they alternate between sweet and savory, and both options were always fantastic. The coffee/espresso area was also fully stocked, and there were always freshly baked cookies or biscotti around to snack on. YUM.

The main reason for our getaway was to visit Acadia National Park, which happened to be closed due to the government shutdown when we were there--talk about bummer. Panicked, I emailed the owners a few days before our trip to ask for details, and they could not have been more reassuring and encouraging that our stay would be fantastic even if the park was closed (we were able to get in on foot and still hike around). I so appreciated their advice, and how right they were!

All-in-all, a great stay and we would definitely come back.

Room Tip: We stayed in the only room located on the main floor (all others are upstairs), and it was lovely. I...

The Clark Point Inn far exceeded our expectations! The breakfasts were incredible, the decor was delightful, and the hospitality is second to none. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The Inn was a great location to town and the harbor. Also a short trip to many beautiful destinations and points of interest. I would not hesitate to make this my home away from home for another week in the future! Thank you Jennifer and Mark for a great experience.

Room Tip: would not let me uncheck pool.

Our rooms were very nice and clean with a water view. You can walk to a few good restaurants. Quiet area. The main things that set this place apart from most B&Bs are: good service by Mark and Jennifer and the breakfasts!! Wow!! Super gourmet and wonderful!!! Coffee bar is set up all the time and a snack is out in the afternoon. Expensive but worth it at least for a couple days. Will go back!!

This is one of the best b&bs we have ever stayed at. The three course breakfasts were excellent. There is a set menu every day that they print on the board outside the kitchen so that you know what you are having. It was very gourmet and delicious, we loved it all. They had coffee out by 7am so we could fill up our cups and sit on the front screened in porch while we waited for breakfast. This inn is in an old house but it has been updated with modern furnishings so it doesn't feel like grandmas house. It is located in the small town of southwest harbor which has several restaurants, is located near some of the best hiking and is about a 20-25 min drive from bar harbor. Bar harbor has more shops and restaurants but is much more full of cruise ship passengers. For a quiet vacation with great food, hiking, biking, and kayaking southwest harbor has it all. The inn keeper put out fresh baked sweets and cheese and crackers nightly. They also had a fridge you could store things in as well as an espresso machine, hot chocolate, tea, and cider. They have a book with all of the restaurant menus and gave us some good recommendations. The Benjamin Jacob room was bright and sunny, clean, modern, and fresh. The bathroom was big enough and we had a modern flat screen tv, free Internet, and wine fridge. This was our first time in maine and I would definitely stay here again!
