Cannot say enough great things about Bryan and Pamela and their cozy Inn in Southwest Harbor. My husband and I spent a week in Maine, and after a night in Portland, headed up to explore Acadia National Park. We were looking for a quiet and comfortable Inn as a launching point for our outdoor activities, and could not have been more pleased with the Kingsleigh Inn. We stayed in the Abbott room, which was clean, quiet, comfy and had a great balcony overlooking Southwest Harbor. The little touches like the heated bathroom floor, chocolates and port in the room, and afternoon snacks were wonderful. The Inn itself is very clean with all of the comforts of home -- tons of books to read, games to play, hot and cold beverages out all day, etc. Bryan and Pamela are incredible hosts. We loved chatting with them both during breakfast and before heading out for the day. And speaking of breakfast -- it was delicious every morning. We appreciated having a choice of two "main dishes" and loved that after an awesome two course meal dessert was served. Thank you Bryan and Pamela for providing us with such a comfortable place to stay while we took in the incredible park. We cannot wait to return to MDI and your Inn!

Room Tip: We stayed in the Abbott, which is on the 2nd floor and has a large balcony with small side table and...

What a fantastic B and B!!! The owners have decades of experience and this is their 3rd B&B. Fresh baked goods out always, complimentary wine and cheese each night, an AMAZING breakfast(we had a Lobster quiche that was soooo good!). Great bike shop literally across the street, the Kingsliegh is a 3 minute walk to lots of good restaurants and funky shops.

And th eprice - better than any we checked out on MDI. STAY THERE!!!

We stayed at the Kingsleigh Inn for 3 nights and we wish we could have stayed longer. Pamela and Brian are wonderful innkeepers who excel at making your stay special. Our room was the Hawthorne, a small but comfortable and tastefully decorated room. It has a balcony overlooking a meadow but, unfortunately, it rained for our entire stay so we weren't able to enjoy it. The Inn is spotlessly clean, the bed was very comfortable and the climate control was excellent. The breakfasts were interesting, varied and delicious; don't eat breakfast anywhere else! The common areas are wonderful and a great place to socialize with the other guests. Some tips:
1. Make sure you take advantage of the complimentary wine and crudites served from 5-6 pm. The red wine is a nice French Pinot Noir.
2. Also, take advantage of the wrap-around deck and have a nice meal in the evening watching the world go by. We ordered take-out from a local restaurant and brought it back to the Inn. Pam & Brian supply tableware for your use...a nice touch.

We look forward to returning. Next time we want to stay in the Turret Suite we hear so much about!

Room Tip: The Turret Suite is supposed to be wonderful. Front-facing rooms are probably a bit noisier since t...

We stayed in the Turret Suite, for one of the most relaxing vacation stays we've ever experienced! Pamela and Bryan were extraordinarily friendly and accommodating, and took every measure to make our visit delightful, and we'll definitely stay here for our next trip to Acadia. The breakfasts were decadent, the room was amazing, and we started every day happy, rested and well-fed! It was also nice to stay in Southwest Harbor, which is a quiet respite from the crowds while still having several great restaurants within a two-minute walk.

We stayed here. For several nights in summer 2012. The location is great, the owners are lovely hosts, and the house has charm, BUT our room had not been dusted or vacuumed for a while. There were hairs all over the carpet in the room , as well as the bathroom upon our arrival, which never disappeared in the several days of our stay. Ironically there was a tip envelope for the maid, which mysteriously showed up the day before our departure. The floor in our room was not level near the bed I spent every night rolling downhill into my husband. All of the food was just delicious, however the portion sizes for the 3 course breakfast were small, and we left for a day in Acadia still hungry.

Pamela and Bryan have created a coastal fantasy in the Turret Suite. The photos on the website cannot do it justice. I slept on the left side of the bed so I could see the boats in the water each morning through the turret windows. The four poster king sized bed is extremely comfortable after a day of sea kayaking, sailing, biking or hiking. We did not need to use the fireplace or air conditioning since open windows in June allowed fragrance of lilacs and sea air to freshen the rooms. Delicious coffee and three course breakfasts with mystery juice of the day started the mornings. I can't decide if the smoked salmon frittata or the eggs florentine was my favorite. The Kingsleigh must attract kindred souls because the fellow guests we met from South Carolina, Alabama, and Brooklyn seemed like long lost friends. All this and fresh lobster within walking distance ? Relaxation at its finest.

Ditto the recent reviews. The breakfasts were wonderful - infused with creativity and healthy ingredients! It was great having a choice of two entrees as we were traveling with our daughters. Enjoying br'fast on the wrap around porch was very pleasant on warmer mornings. An espresso machine and tea is available throughout the day as is a water cooler to fill our bottles or bottled water in the guest fridge. No one will ever go hungry at this Inn - see their comprehensive website for more details - we've stayed at a few B&B's in the past and this is first one which has wine (white and red) with hor d'oeuvres from 5-6 p.m. This is also the place to enjoy reading - Pamela and Brian have many books and magazines available to peruse, including many about the island. Although there isn't a television (yeah!), a portable DVD player is provided in each room which our daughters enjoyed. Many good restaurants and local businesses are within walking distance as this Inn is located in the quaint town of SW Harbor. A bike shop is across the street. We highly recommend this Inn!
