A great B&B in a great location. Innkeepers, Brian and Pamela, could not have been better. Ditto the breakfasts, and very unique serving dessert too. Brian hosted a wine and snacks hour with lots of interesting discussions. Waterview room with all the amenities although compact(not a complaint, very comfortable). Very helpful and informative with dinner reservations and attractions around the island. We have stayed in many, many B&B's and this is definitely one of the very best. We wish it were closer to home.

Very nice place. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The town of Southwest Harbor was very quaint and had some nice shops

The house was gorgeous! Very old and well maintained.

The room was very nice and we had a partial view of the harbor. The evening wine and snack time was a pleasant touch and encouraged interaction with other guests.

Breakfasts were unbelievable.......multi-courses with five-star presentation, quality and taste. We sat on the porch both mornings and the setting was awesome.

The hosts .. .Pam and Brian .... are doing it right.

Thanks for a nice stay.

My husband and I just took our first trip to Maine this past week and stayed at the Kingsleigh for the Acadia portion of our trip. SW Harbor is definitely the quieter side of the island, but it was perfect for my husband and I who didn't love the tourist and cruise ship scene at Bar Harbor. There are plenty of hikes and a great kayaking company minutes down the street from the inn, and there's nothing on the island more than a half hour away. The inn itself is cozy and welcoming. We heard no noise from other guests - the only thing that woke us up in the morning was the smell of "lobstah eggs" or blueberry pancakes in the kitchen. Bryan and Pamela have great attention for detail: gourmet breakfasts, espresso machine, chocolates in your room each night, just about any guide or information book on the island, etc. And they are both full of great suggestions for any empty spots in your itinerary. Or if you just want a relaxing evening, you can sit out on the porch with a complimentary glass of wine (or three!) and watch the sunset over the harbor. Perfect trip. We'll be back!

We really enjoyed our 6 night stay at the Kingsleigh Inn. The inn is well looked after and Brian and Pamela (inn keepers) are really lovely people. I'd read excellent reviews of the inn on TA before going and I have to say the inn lived up to all of them and probably exceeded our expectations. The 3 course breakfasts are amazing, I particularly enjoyed 'guess the juice' every morning and the fact that no breakfast was the same. Different and equally delicious every day!
There is plenty of space to relax and enjoy a coffee, either on the balcony/porch or in the sitting rooms.
Coffee or tea is available all day and is accompanied by freshly baked muffins or cookies in the afternoons.
We enjoyed coming down for wine and hors d'ouvres every evening and chatting to the other guests at the inn, we met some really lovely people and swapped recommendations for trips out and places to eat.
Our room was delightful, the bed was really comfortable ( I loved the pillows and forgot to ask where they were purchased, I need one!!) Even though our room faced the road there was no traffic noise to disturb us due to the triple glazed windows.
When we go again I think we will book one of the rooms at the back of the building with a balcony, they face the harbour and other guests described how lovely it was to sit on the balcony with a glass of wine or a cup of coffee and enjoy the view. Brian and Pamela, we will be back!!

A lovely B&B in the center of town, walking distance from restaurants. The gourmet breakfasts will spoil you for future inns - lots of perks including espresso, freshly baked snacks, wine in the afternoon. Loved the fact that there were no televisions on the premises. Nice view of the harbor weather permitting!

Overpriced for the quality. Breakfast, although delicious, was very small. The rooms were tiny. I don't understand how anyone could like the couple running this place. The man was arrogant and smug. They both have an attitude problem. The home is unattractive and not suitable for a B&B. You can hear everyone else conversing. Check-in is in the kitchen. Our bathroom was reminiscent of an airplane bathroom. We have been to several similarly priced B&B's around the US, and were expecting a similar experience. We were extremely disappointed. Also, it's a little far from the highlights of Acadia (30+ minutes each time we went).

Pamela and Bryan are wonderful hosts and truely go above and beyond to make your stay a memorable one. My family recently stayed at the Kingsleigh on our trip to Maine in late August. My children (age 17 & 12) had never stayed at an inn before and loved the experience; slippers and PJ bottoms worn to breakfast may have been part of the reason!

There wasn't anything that our hosts hadn't thought of: afternoon nibblies with wine, fridges in the room, drinks for outings, gourmet breakfast's, and wonderful outing advice.

The Kingsleigh is in a central location that made day trips very easy on the driver and great food was easy to find in Southwest Harbour.

I even made the mistake of leaving my wallet in the top drawer of the dresser. Pamela did the running around and figuring out to ensure it got back to me in Canada: this was no simple task as it turns out.

I would highly recommend a visit to this beautiful inn and if it's available, book the Turret room - you'll feel like royalty!

Room Tip: Turret room has great views and is like a mini apartment. Perfect if you like to stay in and put you...
