Craignair Inn, nestled right up against the ocean's shore, lends an extremely desirable destination location. Experiencing the quaint, cozy surroundings, amazing ocean views, and roaring wood burning fires in the gathering room...I felt completely relaxed throughout my stay, and didn't want to leave! The Inn is beautiful and our room was very pretty and inviting. COMFORTABLE BED!! The owner's, Michael & Joanne, ARE the definition of "hospitable"! What amazing people... :) The food they prepped and served us was delicious and they serve great coffee! Absolutely one of the nicest B&B's we've EVER visited, and we WILL absolutely return!!

Room Tip: In my opinion, calling the Inn directly is the best way to book your stay as you can then speak dire...

I met the owners while I was vacationing in Maine and decided to give their place a try on my next trip to Maine.

I arrived late at night and my key was waiting for me. The inn is gorgeous. My room was excellent. Everything I wanted and needed could be found in the room.

Breakfast overlooking the water with Mimi, the dog, walking around added the feeling of being welcome and at home. Michael's breakfast was excellent.

Craignair Inn will be part of my annual vacation in Maine.

This is a charming place and the rooms are a nice departure from standard hotel rooms. The staircase at the Inn is definitely steep and the rooms are on the 2nd and 3rd floor. The rooms in both the Inn and the Annex are nicely decorated with antiques, cozy and clean. The Annex Rooms would be a better choice over all especially for an older traveler. Our son stayed in the Inn. He much preferred our Annex room because we had air conditioning and good cable TV reception. The weather was excellent during our 2-day stay. Would have loved to stay an extra day, but our schedule was full. I waded in the ocean on the small sand beach on the private "island" just 1 minute walk from the Inn. The Craignair is in a quite location, but just minutes away from the Marshall Point Lighthouse, as well as the Monhegan Boatline.

Room Tip: In the summer choose a room in the Annex and not the Inn because the Annex has air conditioning and...

Thank you very much for taking time to review the Craignair! We are glad you stayed with us and enjoyed your time. In response to your comment about the stairway I have updated our website to clearly indicate which rooms are on the second and third floor of the inn. Thanks for pointing that out as I have gotten used to them and tend to forget how steep stairs can be in an historic building versus a more modern one!
Look forward to having you again in the future!

We had a surprise party for my husband's birthday at The Craignair and many of our friends and family stayed there as well. Michael and Joanne really impressed me with their knowledge of the area and local resources we could use for seafood, beer and wine. The food was absolutely amazing and the inn was decorated beautifully, both with our party decor as well as for Christmas. Joanne went above and beyond to set up tables and arrange our photos, favors etc. She also gave our guests a fantastic rate. I know everyone wants to go back again as they felt so much at home. Port Clyde and the St. George Peninsula is my husband's favorite place on earth - and Joanne and Michael helped us share that with all of our guests. Thank you!

We had an absolute blast hosting your husband's birthday party here!! What a treat to be a part of it! I'm still surprised you were able to keep such a big party a secret but you did a fantastic job! We enjoyed customizing the menu for your party--lobster stew in home-made bread boules and a dessert bar. It was great! Thanks for your kind words.

The Craignair Inn is a quaint old inn in a lovely, peaceful setting offering wonderful food, attentive service, and personable hosts...and all at a reasonable price. Joanne and Michael have put their hearts and souls into this place, and you will sense that when you stay here.

We stayed three nights recently, with several friends old and new, and attended a private party that was held in the spacious dining room overlooking the ocean. Although there were about 50 people at the party Joanne, Michael, and their staff handled the multi-course meal with ease.

And The drinks in front of the fire on a cold, snowy afternoon were most appreciated.

Room Tip: Some rooms have a private bath and ocean view.

The Craignair is such a special place. You arrive and feel as if the cares of the world are a million miles away! What a treat to read on the lawn, hike around the old quarry, enjoy a delicious dinner, and a delightful breakfast. It's terrific that the new young innkeepers can update the Inn as necessary and keep it's essential old coastal Maine feel. Very special!

We would love to return to Criagnair. It's a beautiful location, the inn was great, and the price reasonable. It was clean and comfortable, and the Inn Keepers, Michael and Joann were very welcoming and helpful. The locale and scenery were gorgeous, a great place for a hike, and relaxation.

Room Tip: We had a wonderful view facing the water. We were in the main house which I would certainly over st...
