“Great Lobster”
Reviewed 22 September 2012

A little out of the way, but the lobsters were fresh, and the staff was really great. We enjoyed a private talk with the owner who gave us a real lecture on the local lobster fishing trials, and over all weather picture for the area. He was kind and helpfull.

“great neighborhood store”
Reviewed 25 June 2012

They have fresh tomatoes and cukes way before anyone around. Grown in the ground. Store has about everything you need. Even nuts and bolts. Very lucky to have!

“An Off the Beaten Path Taste of Local Culture and Cuisine”
Reviewed 10 August 2011

We were referred to this "quaint" spot by Roy, the manager of the Acadia Sunrise Motel, also in Trenton. He said that if you want good, cheap seafood, with no frills, then this is the place. My wife and I trekked over there down some windy road just off of the main access road and there was C&G. It s a backwoods looking little store with a small outdoor patio area, some limited groceries and camping supplies and some picnic tables in back near a big lobster tank. We sat down and Carlton Mitchell, the owner came out to begin chatting and tell us about his history there for the past 70 years. He's had the store for some time, but just added the "restaurant" recently after battling with the town fathers over zoning issues.
I had a fried clam plate which was very good and priced at $10.95! (unheard of with any other restaurants nearby). My wife had a simple chicken sandwich, also very cheap at $4.95. His lobsters were fresh and also very reasonable. The conversation alone was worth the trip as this man is a true "downeaster". If you want a local experience with cheap, no frills food, give this place a shot!
