We were a little underwhelmed, I'm afraid to say. Not that anything was particularly wrong, it simply lacked anything special. The Inn at Lathones is a very attractively constructed small hotel (a converted steading, by all appearances), and is a popular music venue. I'm lead to believe that gig-nights are very atmospheric, and it is perhaps this we were missing.
The menu was attractive, and the food was the expected quality for the price. The lamb dish we had was cooked just as we like. And the desserts were prepared very well.
Unfortunately the wine list was rather sparse, a large number of attractive wines listed but not available on the night - the waitress explained that this was because the cellar was being restocked.
All in all an average experience for us....
