My husband was quite sick with advanced cancer and he wished to spend some time away from home...sort of on his "bucket list", so we stayed with the wonderful ladies at the Waterford Inne. They went out of their way to help us enjoy our stay with delicious food and attentive care, yet they were not overbearing or bothersome in any way. They kept the fireplace burning nicely for us as the weather outside was still quite cool. It was pleasant and relaxing. Our two little dogs were comfortable and welcomed for which we were truly thankful. I grew up in Waterford and actually knew the owners of the building so it was a special treat for me to enjoy how wonderfully kept the buildings are. My mother was able to come and spend the afternoon with us visiting and was also made to feel at home and she joined us for a lovely supper there. Thanks ladies for the time we had together in such a lovely setting.

Room Tip: The rooms are all theme related and very nice. The web site shows them and gives great tips.

This was our first visit to the Maine lakes area and we were happy to find this lovely bed and breakfast inn tucked away in a picturesque area of Waterford. The setting is beautiful and the inn is a little slice of history and quite charming. The building is extremely well maintained inside and out as well as spotlessly clean. Barbara was very welcoming and provided us with some local information for our visit. We would highly recommend staying at the Waterford inn.

I recently stayed at this lovely inn on the recommendation of a friend. I was thrilled to find it just as wonderful as she had described. My bed was so comfortable I actually over slept! I am a bit of a cleanliness nut so I was delighted to find it so clean. All of our meals were wonderful and the owners could not have been more accommodating. Lovely people!
It was especially beautiful being here in the winter. We enjoyed several long walks.
Can't wait to visit in the Spring, Summer and Fall.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Waterford Inn during a snowstorm. The view out of my window was breathtaking and the Inn was so cozy with several sitting rooms and wonderful artifacts from around the world to look at and explore. The wallpaper in the themed rooms was really nice; the entire place is beautifully decorated and clean. we went snowshoeing right out our door through an old apple orchard into the woods. very, very nice.

Email sent to Barbara at the Waterford Inne: "I have to tell you again what an incredible meal you presented to us last evening. The perfectly cooked pork roast with a name I cannot remember, the artfully served zucchini, and the out of this world corn with butter and cream cheese and the sweet potato with the sweet nut crumble. The fore and aft provisions of the chestnut soup and the chocolate mousse each deserve a full paragraph of accolades. Wow! I can still savor the flavor and textural complexities this morning. PLEASE put that dinner on the McBride list of “do-overs”! "
We have enjoyed many outstanding dinners at this beautiful Inn and always relish the gourmet surprises awaiting our next visit.
Barbara is like the family member you always look forward to visiting but never do it often enough; welcoming, caring, gracious, entertaining and one fabulous chef! As we live 15 minutes away we have not stayed at the Inne but have had friends stay there who were extremely happy.

If you are looking for some quiet relaxation after a day of skiing, you will find it here.
Lovely home/inn decorated through Barbara's extensive travel. Clean means everything, and the Waterford is spotless. We had an overnight snowstorm. Not only was the driveway plowed long before we were up, but a path was also shoveled around our car for easy pack up, without snow sliding down our boots. Can only imagine it is equally delightful in summer.

Our stay started off with a hike around the grounds. Very scenic and enjoyable. Scared up a couple deer and a rather large flock of turkey. The dinner Barb prepared, pork loin with honey roasted plums, potatoes and veggies was very tasty. Went well with our wine. Remember, BYOB since the inn doesn't have a liquor license. Being the only guests for the night, we had plenty of time to chat with Barb during evening. The inn is decorated with many items she collected through her travels. The main floor of the inn is very comfortable and a great place to sit and unwind. We stayed in the Chesapeake Room. Entry to the room is up a very narrow staircase. The king size bed is comfortable and makes for a very restful sleep. The private balcony provides a great view of the front yard -- great for watching turkey parade around. Breakfast was very tasty too. In a nutshell, the bed was comfortable, the food was tasty, the atmosphere was cozy and quiet. Add the woodsy scenery to make this stay relaxing and nearly perfect.
