I only visited briefly, but walked to the Laudholm Beach. Plan to check out the other nature trails.

we discovered this place many years ago and come here every time we come to Wells..it's easy to find with the big signs, you can turn onto Laudholm Road just before the Maine Diner if you're going north on Rt. 1, we've been to the bird banding demos several times or just enjoyed the varied hiking trails..highly recommended

I enjoyed touring the farmhouse and my daughter and I hiked quite a few of the trails. I missed the cut-off to the farm on one of the trails - the signs were a little confusion in places, but we enjoyed it very much.

Got there in the afternoon of a beautiful spring day. Since it was the weekend and early in the season, there were no programs available, but the trails are clearly marked and easily accessible. The whole area is very well maintained. A number of really nice walking trails, and a lovely beach. Well worth a visit

Our original target for a birding adventure was Rachel Carson National Wildlife Refuge, but we were advised by some locals to go to this place which they said had more variety. We were very impressed with this facility and walked on about four miles of trails and saw and listened to a variety of song birds. The trails are well maintained by staff and volunteers. Many of the trees are marked with their names, and there and numerous signs that explain the ecology and wildlife one may see.
This is a great place to spend several hours and learn a lot. We noticed a lot of upcoming educational events. This place which is very close to Kennebunkport and Wells is worth targeting for an extended future visit. Although there is no fee, there are boxes for donations, and we were more than willing to contribute. Visit their website at www.wellsreserve.org
