“Quality and affordable”
Reviewed 13 August 2014

When we come up to Maine, we like to try the variety of restaurants the available. Litchfields has made quite an impression. Their menu has a perfect variety of seafood and pub food, Their beers are affordable and their staff was very attentive. I did not give them five stars because I thought the food took awhile to come and she did not bring the check right away. The food, however, was delicious and worth the wait. The clam chowder was amazing and the clams were so tender. The fried food was cooked perfectly and also very delicious. The best meal my parents have had in Maine they said. One last very important note. We have kids and waitress offered to have their food come out early so it would be cool for when our food arrived. This is only the second time we have had anyone offer this service. From drinks to coloring papers, they were very supportive of the family dining. There was a pub area and outdoor seating that would be awesome to try for a date night or social beer after a day at the beach or work.

“Live music”
Reviewed 8 August 2014 via mobile

My husband and I went out to eat and to listen to some live music. They have a good burger and the wait staff was very friendly. We would visit again.

“um, go someplace else”
Reviewed 21 July 2014

There are a number of casual places to dine in Wells, and I'm afraid Litchfields is one of the lesser destinations. The food tastes like it was microwaved; the prices are too high for what you get and the service is laughable. The waitresses never check on you and have zero personality. This place is only suitable for those who have little children and don't want to eat at one of the more upscale places.

“misled by reviews”
Reviewed 10 July 2014

On Monday night July 7,2014 we arrived in Wells, Maine and decided to give Litchfields a try based on the reviews on this website. The menu listed Monday night as a prime rib special and for the price and the reviews we ordered it. As soon as we ordered we were told the menu was printed incorrectly , there was no prime rib special. The manager was agreeable to give us the special price however. Although the meat was tender it was sooo dry we asked if there was some Au Jus which is normally served with this dish. None. We then asked for horseradish which was fresh but did little to overcome the dryness. The broccoli was overcooked. We were extremely disappointed and when we told the waitress about the dryness, she invited us to come back and order the hamburgers next time which was their specialty.
