Better than the one in town (Wiscasset)- good food .We have only done take-out, but they have a buffet during the summer that we will try.

After our "remote" location camping, we came across this restaurant, as if welcoming our party, back to civilization! The menu was almost Chinese cuisine, later we found some Philippine food offered, and we had the "Pancit tagalog", Manila Chop Suey, steamed rice and fresh "Lumpia(egg rolls, not fried) and Iced tea. It was all delicious, prepared very well and freshly cooked!
The ambience is nice and well appointed, the wait staff very attentive and excellent service! We feel that the price is also low, very reasonable. It sure made us all fortified for the long drive, back to Connecticut. There are more items on the menu that we will taste on the next "expedition" to the wilds of Maine!

To start I was staving to death. I asked for no MSG and seemingly received a extra dosage of the stuff. I love chinese food but this honestly turned me off it for awhile. I ordered the general tso's chicken. It looked more like a chicken soup. It wreaked of salt, the broccoli was way over cooked, and came with no rice, which is a first for me. Waste of time and money. I ended up making a peanut butter and jelly only after triumphantly tossing it in the garbage..

We'd eaten take-out from Taste of Orient a few times, and while it wasn't great, it was acceptable. Surprisingly, our last order was like a couple of plates of garbage--obviously leftover food at the end of the day that should never have been served, much less sold. After a couple of bites, it went from our kitchen table straight to the trash. A complaining phone call to the owner resulted in denial that such a thing could have happened--there was no apology. We haven't been back.

This is a unique local watering hole. <ingle with the locals as you notice the suspicious stripper pole by the dance floor. Draft beer is cheap early evening and Joyce at the bar is very sweet. The better food are the Phillipino cho mein slections as the owner is Phillipino. Place feels sketchy but is quite fun. No, we have never seen the stripper pole in use! Dinner at the no-alcohol Sea Basket and drinks here might be a good idea!
