How often do you run into a waitress who just doesn't care? Ordered drinks & asked what the special was. Probably asked too much- somewhat disdainful answer was it wasn't written up yet would have to wait until 5pm. Hey, maybe at 4:45pm they still didn't know- could have found out by going to the kitchen and asking, but...

Have eaten there before & it was ok so maybe we could get past the poor service. Maybe... but ended walking out the door after we unwrapped the utensils and found dried food particles pasted on them. Wow...

This restaurant has beautiful views of the adjacent estuary and is a family friendly environment. The food is okay to good, depending on what one orders. Service is professionally polite but slow.

I really wanted to like this place. We were staying at the hotel and the top of the hill. Had just driven in from Acadia in torrential rain and didn't want to venture out again so we were going to order pizza delivery to the room. However, restaurant menu was in our room and looked promising, especially after six days of camp food. Lemon pea risotto, seafood casserole in sherry cream sauce, vegetable ravioli...all sounded good enough to swim down the hill and splurge a little. Boy, were we disappointed! Host and waitress were so friendly and the rolls were delicious but the clam chowder had cold, lumpy bits and more grit than clams, my husband's risotto was nothing but sticky med grain rice reheated in the microwave with some cream. The roast chicken was rock hard and even the dark meat was powder dry, and the "not-to-miss-house-specialty" seafood casserole was flaccid overcooked fish swimming in a bland brown sauce with barely defrosted lobster, all hiding under a soggy cracker crumbs. After all the disappointment, I asked the waitress what she would eat here and she just shrugged and said "most people don't send the fried food back." By the time I left, I was actually sorry we hadn't just ordered Dominoes. This wasn't worth the effort or the $150+ tab for our family of four.

After years of driving by on our way to and from camp we finally stopped for an early dinner. I expected a rustic waterfront seafood restaurant typical of Maine. Never did I expect the lovely atmosphere I discovered. The restaurant is so so pretty with it's green walls and furnishings and white accents creating a calm, relaxing atmosphere.
I ordered seafood scampi and loved every morsel. The pasta was fresh and flavorful. The sauce was perfect, tasty and not too heavy and the seafood cooked to perfection with plenty of large shrimp, sea scallops and lobster pieces. The serving so generous I had to share it with my companion.
Gary ordered baked haddock which was served with asparagus and rice and topped with what tasted like a newburg sauce. Again, a very generous portion and the sauce was perfect - flavorful, not too heavy and a wonderful addition to the fish.
We cleaned out plates and if we had more bread would have sopped up every last remaining speck of sauces (glad we didn't ask for more bread)
We each had a glass of wine and our bill was less than $60. So so worth stopping in this restaurant and a nice diversion from the traffic. We will definitely be back.

If we tipped based on the quality of the food our waitress would have been very sad. Worst was the lobster bisque which bore more a resemblance to the glop they pour on tortilla chips at movie chains and call nachos than anything else. Flavorless and gloppy with bits of lobster is not what lobster bisque is. That's what we got for $7 a cup. The main courses were digestible but the risotto was not made with the correct rice. If the meals had been two-for-twenty or some such deal, then fine. But the bill was $66 including tax before the tip. Even with a groupon it wouldn't be worth it. The place is large, clean, plain and might appeal to people from the Midwest who are unfamiliar with seafood. But even they would be able to tell this is just a vastly overpriced tourist trap. Decent service. Nice view if you're by a window. Marginally adequate but uninspired draft beer selection. Decent wine list considering the rest. Will never return.
