“Love it here!”

I stayed at this B&B in 2011 and then again this September of this year (2013). For both trips, I was stopping for one-two nights in southern Maine on my way to/from Acadia National Park. I had such a pleasant experience on my first stop over in 2011 that I went back there this year. I love the Bittersweet B&B. The owners are great and very accomodating. In addition, the house is nicely decorated, very clean and close to the shops/beach/attractions. Also, I think the prices are very reasonable. Lastly, the outside is well landscaped with severaI lovely areas where you can sit/read/relax. I would highly recommend this B&B to anyone looking to stay in the area.

Bittersweet B & B is a gem in York. This lovely house is located away from the noise of Short Sands Beach, but close enough to York Beach, Nubble lighthouse and Ogunquit that the choices of restaurants and activities is endless.
The first thing we noticed as we drove in were the gardens. It was July and everything was in full bloom making a delightful display of color. The lawn was manicured and lush, the little fountain gurgling among the lilies was charming.
We were greeted by Ray and Victor, who treated us like old friends coming for a visit. We toured the house and were shown to our room, a lovely king room at the front of the second floor. The room was tastefully decorated with a comfy chair by the window. It was obvious that this house is very well cared for because everything in the room and the bath was super clean and shining.
We slept very well because the bed was very comfortable and the house was very quiet. Breakfast in the morning was delicious. The blueberry muffins everyone raves about really are as good as described.
Bittersweet B & B is a superior place which deserves all the glowing reviews it gets. We travel to Maine often and will definitely stay here again. Ray and Victor are wonderful owners who really strive to make their guests comfortable and happy.

My fiance and I recently stayed here for a couple of days over the holiday weekend. This is a converted house with a gorgeous yard and landscaping. Met the owners of course and they were as friendly and down to earth as could be. The place is immaculate.
We came down to breakfast the next morning and it was as if we owned the place and were waited on and cooked for like we were the only ones there which we were not.
Food was plentiful and home made on the spot.
Would recommend to anyone for any season

I can't say enough (good things!) about this bed and breakfast: it's a beautifully restored farmhouse and gardens in a great location, the hosts were fantastic and the breakfast divine! Bacon, eggs, coffee, fruit juice and fresh blueberry muffins... yum! yum! The rooms, and the whole house, are beautifully decorated and very, very comfortable.

We were lucky to get two rooms at very short notice - but I would imagine you need to book well in advance in high season as this, deservedly so, is a very popular B&B. We paid an off-season rate of $75 per night, which is an absolute bargain!

Vince gave us great advice on where to eat: Cape Neddick Lobster Pound: delicious! Sit by the window for great views!

This adorable Inn was immaculate, and located a short walk from a stunningly gorgeous beach/marsh as well as Short Sands beach town. Our hosts graciously and tirelessly waited on us seven siblings who were in town for a memorial to our recently deceased mom. Sitting on the front porch, smelling the irises and prim-roses in full bloom in the June sunshine was great therapy. The Wifi worked, the beds were comfy, and the fresh blueberry muffins were to die for. Better than the brochure! Also did I mention it was only $75 per night! You will want to come back.

One word that stands out over everything: CLEAN! This was the cleanest establishment we have ever stayed at. You can tell they take pride in their business. We only did an overnight for our anniversary but we will definitely be back. Breakfast was scrambled eggs and bacon with a warm fresh blueberry muffin. I highly recommend this b&b! For the price and the hospitality you just can't beat it! Also very close to short sands beach.

Victor and Ray are great host. Bittersweet is very clean and comfortable. It's a nice location close to the light house and beach. The house and rooms are kept up very well and it shows. The nice porch out front is a nice place to have a glass of wine and it feels like home.
The rooms do not have tv's but they have one in the common area if you need to watch tv . That's ok because it makes it a really quite house to get a good night sleep.
Price is right and the breakfast is good .
Bittersweet is a home away from home and we will be back, hopefully soon because we love Maine.
